I don't deny that's what I put on my address...sure peoy Town Hall people from Crossmaglen have to right Crossmaglen, Newry, Co.Down!!!

The River Clanrye is the natural border between Down and Armagh, which is why Newry Town Hall was built there to avoid any bias!!

last post made no sense

i don't deny i put Newry Co.Down on my address... are you saying that camlough, Bessbrook,Crossmaglen and St.Pauls High School are in County Down because they also do??

Newry Town Hall was built on the River Clanrye because it symbolises the border between both County Down and Armagh!!

Trillick is 100% in Tyrone, despite numerous connections with fermanagh. Former Tyrone manager John Donnelly played and managed Trillick was originally from fermanagh, and at one piont (about 20 years ago) the captains of both Tyrone and Fermanagh played for Trillick.
Its the Loup in Tyrone or Derry?

The Clanrye River is the historic border of the two counties...Boundary changes count for nothing...

I don't see how you see people wearing Armagh jersey's in Newry as jumping on the bandwagon? Newry always has had a lot of Armagh support, never as much as Down, but even so during the bad years Armagh supporters were always about!!

this is not a boundary change, as ive already stated the divide of the town hall is an old myth and its a good story to be telling tourists who visit nerwy. sure theres an old question that Armagh folks always throw up asking: who is the only county to have their county pit to workch in a a different county? and armagh ones say Down. yous try to winde us down people but it aint going to work

Donegal_abroad Leixlip is not an extension of Dublin! I lived in the capital for 7 years and moved to Leixlip last year. They are worlds apart. Even though there is a small geographical distance between Lucan (Dublin) and Leixlip (Kildare) there is a vast difference between attitudes. Even the accent differs in the short trip over the border. There is no part of Leixlip in Dublin as opposed to other towns around the country which are divided by county lines. I sure every Leixlip person would shout at the computer screen in anger at reading your post.

Sorry for the rant but i already feel a strong link with this town after only 10 months. One which i never felt with the capital!

Totally agree.... Leixlip is certainly Kildare.... everything about the place is different to Dublin.... Lucan on the other hand are possibly wannabe Lilywhites....

Do you know how to sort these arguments out about Newry? Look at a map. Try Google or possibly by a hard copy. One thing i know Newry isn't is a city. Bye

Offaly claim ownership of Moneygall yet they play in the North Tipperary Championship and if the Moneygall players are good enough they play for Tipperary.

Newryview you're wrong...End of..

You have come up with some daft idea the county border is in Derrybeg...so you're saying the entire centre of the town/city is in Down..get a grip!! A convenient idea from your typical, arrogant Down fan I'd say.
I have no problem admitting the majority of people in Newry support Down, nor do I have a problem writing that I live in Co. Down on my address even though I clearly don't.. Like people from Bessbrook and Camlough have to write they live in Co. Down for goodness sake....in fact the whole of South Armagh does!!
The fact is that by right I should be able to write I live in Co. Armagh on my address as should everybody on the west side of the river...
