The minor keeper looks good. Had a stormer against Down. Lets see how he gets on in Final. mickyg (Mayo) - Posts: 11 - 02/09/2009 21:12:47 413701 Link 0 |
Lads....Hennelly is class, no doubt about it. The Zinger doesn't look half bad either but both are unproven at senior inter county level and don't have the same physical presence as David Clarke. He's also a brilliant shot stopper and his kick outs are varied with good distance. He's number 1. ballinaman (Mayo) - Posts: 226 - 03/09/2009 09:10:26 414029 Link 0 |

Slingerman most definatly! The saves he had in the minor semi final against down were just unreal! Better then anything clarke, o malley or hennelly could do! SandraBallagh (Mayo) - Posts: 13 - 01/10/2009 11:58:56 441822 Link 0 |

The save Robert Hennelly made in Longford last year was the best save I have ever seen in any game!Throughout his year with the minors and the U21s his performances were top notch and I think he should get a chance with the Seniors in the league next year. Based on game yesterday Padden is miles ahead of Ruddy as a keeper, Ruddy showed an inability to find his own man on kickouts, he tried going short but didn have the accuaracy then he retreated to belting it 70 yards downfield into Barret and BJ Padden. Whilst in the first game he done the John Madden and let it bounce over his own crossbar. Padden made three or four great saves yesterday and was very solid in first game also. His kickouts were well varied and 9 times out of ten found a red jersey. Perhaps he should be given a chance even as a back up for Clarke. As for Ruddy he will play county again but it will be for the Mayo Juniors! snap (Mayo) - Posts: 54 - 12/10/2009 12:49:00 451749 Link 0 |
555 boobs posted a comment referring to shane macken being one of the best goalies in the county.this fella couldnt even make the colmans senior team a couple of years ago.he lost out to patrick kirrane who fully deserved his spot.neither did he deserve his spot on the u.21 panel last year.
