Duffy, an Irish citizen previously made a complaint to the Irish consulate in Scotland about the singing of anti-Irish, anti-Catholic and mocking Famine songs at football grounds in Scotland. James McCarthy is a young fella born in Scotland who has made a choice to play for the Republic. He is now being demonized and abused both by Rangers fans and a large portion of the Scottish media for this choice. The fact is that the Irish government has already made representations to the Scottish Executive about the abuse of Irish players and the singing of sectarian songs in Scotland. UEFA are also aware of it. If songs about the Holocaust or mocking slavery were sung in Britain we would hear a lot about it.
Dhorse, I take it that's a wind up. If you don't know the difference between Celtic and Rangers I suggest you Google them. Celtic receive awards, Fair Play trophies and invites to tournaments all over the world. Rangers receive fines for sectarian singing, their fans start riots and the citizens of Manchetser, Barcelona, Seville amongst others don't want them ANYWHERE near their city again. The name of CELTIC is held is high esteem across the continent, the name RANGERS draws contempt and bad memories.

Well done to big Martin Rogan from Belfast. He's just won the Commonwealth Heavyweight title in the best fight I have seen in years. He's an old style boxer in the Marciano/Frazier style, full of action with punch that would sink a battleship. He certainly put the wind up Matt Skelton tonight. Bookies got it wrong again.

In my last game, aged 44, playing not in goals but at centre half forward as an alleged "play maker", Martin Rogan had the privilege of marking me that night.

He now has another claim to sporting fame.

PS: When they told me I was the play maker, that's when I decided to pull the team out of the league.

PPS: I still say if Antrim had played his brother Ger on Nicky English in 89, Nicky would not have scored 2-12.

No onecares anymore !!!

theres more catholics playing for rangers than there is at celtic, the two of them play awful football, and any players who do play for celtic and are roman catholic were never even in Ireland

ulsterman agus sons-oferin, im well aware of the difference between rangers and celtic clubs, why are football companies referred to as clubs. my query was whats the difference between the fans, i use the ferry from larne occasionally and come across hordes of both sets of fans, i reckon if you just got them all to swap jersies theres no difference

Well Loyal that horse was not good enough yesterday. Lost a good bit of money but i expect to get it back today on Major Sensation in the 3.55 Leop. Have no word for it but i think conditions will suit it today and at 5/2 it will carry my money.

I believe Siciilian Secret will win the Winners Bumper at Cheltenham (Wed). He is very highly thought of and is around 6 or 7/1. Might be a better price on the day.

Cavan Slasher and Loyal, being someone who has a mild interest in horse racing, I have been reading your posts for the past couple of weeks! I have to say youse fairly know your stuff. Youse picked out a right few winners from what i have read anyway. So going on your recommendations i backed Liss na Tintri on Saturday and told a few of my buddies to do the same!!!! AGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! That horse had so much more in it. The jockey left it far too late and left him with too much work to do!! Keep up the good work lads, i'll be reviewing it!!!

i'll second that Rio - these guys seem to know their horses in a big way - luckily i stayed away from Liss na tintri on Saturday. I did however do my own double of Half back 8/1 and marley park 6/1- it was only a shot in the dark hence i didnt feel brave/confident enough to share it on here. As always though i didnt stick enough on it!!!

Thanks for the tips though lads they are mcuh appreciated. My knowledge of horses is poor to say the least - you could write it on the back of a postage stamp, so any pointers in the right direction as far as bets are concerned are more than useful

Nearly spot on. City are a joke team, hence our love for them. at present they would be just above Celtic, or maybe even on a par.

And they now have a joke manager, although it is not his fault. He has been brought up in the "English" game were effort and graft are rated higher than football ability. Every team in Holland, France, Italy, Belgium and probably the Faroe Islands have better technical ability than premiership teams, but the better premiership sides have a few footballers, and the graft of the rest can now see off Europe.

However not having had time to spend much money, City are among the 16/17 teams in the premiership who are not very good.

Mark Hughes is trying to play the typical premiership game of "working your socks off" with gifted footballers. That is impossible to do, good footballers don't chase back and tackle and all that nonsense.

So for Hughes to succeed in his style he would need to sell Ireland (best player in the league this year) Robinho, Elano, Wright Philips, Jo and Petrov, and buy grafters like Robbie Savage, Danny Murphy, Lee Cattermole, Roy Keane, or whatever.

Or City could simply get Sven back.

Mind you, life would be unbearable if we started winning trophies and all that, it would take all the fun out of the magical mystery tour which we now enjoy with City.

The Revolution, your grasping at straws if you think you can win the premiership with an Injured top striker and a injured top midfielder that's the whole attack out you'll be lucky to hold on to 3rd place.

As much as I want liverpool to win the premiership, I can't see them doing it with Benitez as Manager. Martin O'Neil is the man for the job

What do our southern brethern think about the Green Party's proposal to tax text messages??? At first I thought it was ridiculous, government taxing everything these days etc etc. But the more I thought about it, the more I could see their point. They figured that if they charged 1 cent on every text message, it would result in 1.6 billion euro's worth of revenue to the government. Now dont get me wrong, I'm not advocating this tax, largely due to the fact that no matter what the government say, the 1.6 billion will never be fully reinvested back into the country. But 1.6 billion is 1.6 billion at the end of the day!
