Rory Mc Ilroy will be a serious force in golf now that he has broken his duck. Thought he had thrown it away on the 18th but his great bunker shot under pressure won it for him. Onwards and upwards now !! Cavan_Slasher (Cavan) - Posts: 10253 - 01/02/2009 20:11:43 195327 Link 0 |
Fair enough Patrique, how much do you want to take him back? When he want's to and can be bothered Samaras is an asset but his workrate and desire, like today, is very badly lacking sometimes. His ability in the air for a big man is poor and he just looks disinterested at the minute, half hearted in the tackle and giving up far too easily. Likewise Nakamura drifts out of as many games as he plays well in while McGeady just looks like a wee bhoy lost now; the relationship between him and the manager has completely broken down. At the back our defence hasn't a clue how to defend set pieces and this is where we are leaking goals. Big McManus seems to have lost the ability to defend while Darren O'Dea must be wondering what he did wrong. Our two full backs today were pulled out of position for the entire game and Inverness just pumped long balls into the corners because they knew we were struggling there. Willo Flood must come into the midfield immediately with Hartley and O'Dea has to replace McManus who can't inspire leadership and direction when we are struggling. We are a team playing with no real confidence at the minute and the manager seems to have lost the ability to motivate them. Maybe the hunger has worn off after 3 championships but that is no excuse. Football is a fickle game as are supporters and you are only as good as your last game. Some surgery and strategy required at Parkhead now. It's over to you Mr Lawwell and Mr Desmond. Twelve months ago, I said on this very message board that it will be a long, long time before I witness anything like the Giants Patriots Superbowl of 2008. Here I am one year on and amazingly that game has been topped. What I seen last night was one of the single greatest pieces of sport I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. For the occasion that was in it, it was truly brilliant. Loyal2TheRoyal (Meath) - Posts: 4522 - 02/02/2009 17:37:29 196197 Link 0 |

Just after hearing on the news that the 2 million promised to the two Irish banks will not be enough. It seems that they will require 8 million now, i thought i was hearing things. How could this state of affairs occur. Are the Marx Brothers running the country. It is time that our National Emblem, the harp, was replaced by the fiddle as it would be far more appropriate !! Whats the odds Robbie Keane will score 2 against arsenal on his return from the exodus that is Liverpool, that benitez bloke is a joke, he must smoke some of that dope for him to give keane the rope. Any1 know if tottenham still have to play looneypool this season? Biffo (Carlow) - Posts: 91 - 03/02/2009 01:53:57 196490 Link 0 |
Benitez is his own worst enemy. Letting one of the better strikers at the club go when we're coming into the premiership run in without bringing in a replacement is suicide. The chances of Torres getting injured between now and the end of the season is quite high considering his injury frequency. Liverpool have also nailed down their intention to only play 4-5-1 for the rest of the season. A formation that most of the clubs have now learned to deal with. holymoly (Dublin) - Posts: 757 - 03/02/2009 10:01:21 196573 Link 0 |
Tottenham vs Liverpool is the last game of the season...wouldn't it be great if Keane scored the winner to knock the pool out of the title race thats if there still in it ha! paddym123 (Meath) - Posts: 367 - 03/02/2009 10:02:30 196575 Link 0 |

TheRevolution County: Mayo Posts: 457 196966 Yeah PJ, idiots win trophies eh?! Speaks volumes for you lad ;) Big fan of Rafa and Robbie. Sad to see him go, but behind Rafa for sticking to his principles!! Push on now and give Manure a good run for the title Believe it or not rev I'm a life long Liverpool supporter. I am absolutely discusted the way rafa has treated robby keane. I can't get my head around it, It just does'nt make any sense at all. Weakening the team at this stage when for the first time in years they have a genuine chance of winning the title. And also losing millions on Keane. Where's the logic in what he done. As for Keanes form with the pool, rafa never gave him a chance at all, a few minutes on the pitch here and there, thats just stupid. At one stage robby scored 3 goals in 2 games, what did Rafa do for the next game, not only did he drop him, he was'nt even on the subs bench. Spending 20 million on a player and selling him at a loss after a few short months is bad management, he should've at least got till the end of the season.. Yes it would be great If liverpool win the title ahead of the Manure but I think Rafa has blown It with this stupid decision. Kean is a proven goal scorer, if rafa had've played him on a regular basis I'm certain by the end of the season Kean would've scored at least 20 goals giving the pool a much better chance of winning the title. The mind boggles on this one I'm afraid, Rafa is a hard man to work out. PS, Rafa puts David Ngog ahead of Keane, Ngog scored 3 goals for Marrseille in the french 2nd division last season, I rest my case. PJ (None) - Posts: 2288 - 03/02/2009 15:47:02 197002 Link 0 |

Ye and if he did Pj they may have gotten him a few more million if they still decided to sell him. It's a crazy decision. In a world of crazy soccer transfer fees, its good to see one manager keeping his head and doing whats right for his club. Arsene Wenger. He refused to be bullied into paying over the odds for a player and refused to break the clubs wages structure and have them paying out more in wages than they take in in gates/tv rights..etc. Respect. bad.monkey (USA) - Posts: 4649 - 03/02/2009 17:32:47 197155 Link 0 |
Keane is a dud. Definatly not worth £20,000,000! Way over-rated, and I wouldn't even have him as Ireland captain! Yes he scores goals for Ireland, but thats his job as a striker! Shay Given does way more inspiring work than him. A_Border_Bandit (Monaghan) - Posts: 95 - 03/02/2009 17:43:27 197169 Link 0 |
