173646 Did anyone see the Muhammad Ali interview?

Reminder of old times.... when men were men and Joe Frazier was ugly!!!

Didn't see the Ali interview but did anyone see the "Thrilla In Manila" documentary on Channel 4 last night? Brilliant stuff, if a little one sided. Such a pity to see Frazier and all involved with him living in such relative poverty. Frazier is still seriously bitter about it all and you can't really blame him.

Yeah saw that Sacks, very good. Watched that documentary, Thriller in Manilla, very good as well. A lot of people tend to forget what a great boxer Frazier was.

What about the Gazza documentary? Sad - a very sick man unfortunately. And he's only 41 - hard to see him hitting mid 40s with what he's doing to himself.

Did you see your guy Walton in the darts last night, hammered last years champion 4-0. Some amazing checkouts. Still 14-1 outsider. Could be worth a small bet.

Ye seen him on the highlights last night, Sam. Didn't think he'd be 14/1, and your right that does look quite big. Webster wasn't great in fairness but Walton had a high three dart average and the main thing was, he was hitting the doubles. Your man Gary Anderson will lose his nerve eventually and Ted Hankey aka The Count wasn't great last night so you would expect Walton to beat him.

When Ali was fighting the fights usually did'nt last long. In 1964 my older brother got up in the middle of the night to listen to the fight on the radio, Ali or Cassius Clay as he was known then fight Sonny Liston. The brother went to boil the kettle and when he got back to the sittingroom the fight was over. It lasted just over 2 minutes.

Just been announced Amir Kahn is to fight the legend Marco Antonio Barrera. Any thoughts? Personaly feel that Kahn is over hyped and i fear Barrera is in a no win situation. He is a legend and i feel he is risking his legacy by taking on Kahn as Barrera's best years are clearly well behind him.

one of my mates is a boxing journo, runs a website, wrotes for the Star/Sun sometimes. Often on Newstalk's "off the ball"
He would tell you straight up, Khan is Hamed waiting to happen. And not because of his backround!
Khan is just another British phallacy. who will be commentating on Sky in 5 years
