Kingdom Come I must be because I've been reading everywhere today that it was Liverpool who played very well and that is why they won. Whether you can argue that Man Utd were poor or not I don't know. United were on top for the first 20 minutes, then Liverpool started playing. You can hardly say United "turned" poor. Alonso bossed midfield and everytime Riera got the ball he looked dangerous. Good times ahead hopefully! Might add something onto our 18 league titles and 5 European Cups!!!

Jayo, I agree with you really. But what O'Brien is doing is not normal, he deserves a bit of hype. He is a very admirable sort of person as you say so yourself, very modest but always up front and honest with the media. Very hard to find any faults in him, quite simply - a great man.

Sorry to all Kilkenny posters if I upset you with my comments but I am just fed up of seeing ye win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and so forth. To complete this Grand Slam is the same as O'Briens Grand Slam - a phenonomel achievement.

Man Utd will pass Liverpool's record of 18 league titles before the scousers get another. If Utd don't win the league this year then it's Chelseas, hopefully not though! Liverpool still a few class players off a title-winning team.

Great to see two Kerry lads having a ding-dong about Man Utd and Liverpool in the week their team appears in an All Ireland Final!! So the Dubs are the 'soccer' fans - yeah?

In fairness Loyal - he's rewriting the history books alright. But a lot of credit must go to Johnny Murtagh and grooms, stablehands, Mr. Magnier's eye for the bloodline etc. But there is no doubting what he has done for Ireland in terms of our standing in the sport of kings.

JayoCluxton I've never called the Dubs soccer fans. I'm a follower of most sports, Liverpool in the soccer and Munster in the rugby would be the favourites. Sure this is the non-GAA thread, I can argue about whatever I want on here. Sure I'm sick of giving my prediction on every thread. Kerry to win by 2 btw. I'm entitled to take a break from the GAA on this thread every now and again.

Loyal away on with you fella. Nothin can take away from KK's feats this year, the three in a row, the minor and u21 pure class and the best is this year has been in the making for KK for years. This work started years ago when these players where young boys people have passed away after giving there lives to volunteering to get to where they they are today. So your comments are uneducated tripe.

Whoa - steady on 3inarow! Only taking the pee! I'd be a bit of a Leeds fan meself - me and NSG! But I know that ye didn't take that 3inarow08 name from supporting Liverpool though!!!!! Have to say though to hear guys calling into Moooickel Mc Moolin on Saturday's talking about 'we this, we that, we're gonna beat so and so' - absolutely melts my head - I just can't listen to it. I will listen to the match commentaries but when Paddy Joe from Glengoole comes on talking in his braod Tipp accent - about 'our' defence and who 'we' might buy in the transfer window - I hit the off button some whack!

Ah Jayo I wasn't angry or anything. I knew you were messing. I was considering using emoticons (or smiley faces to the ordinary punter) but then Loyal wouldn't be able to follow us! ;)

And I must admit, I'd be guilty of the "we" this and the "we" that when talking about the Pool as well, just don't be whacking my buttons y'hear!?! :)

3rd time lucky with this dumbed down post, so I will keep it to a few lines seeing as the editor cant seem to be scared of big words and powerfully phrased English.

....once again the people of Ireland have acted like petulent kids by voting NO! and so must vote again until they get it right!.....AGAIN!

Democracy is dead in this country!.....dressed up by insulting our intelligence by saying that we didnt know what we were voting about!

Absolute insult!

Regards,

Snufalufagus.....Laochra Gael

Snufiyagomi - the level of intelligence is clearly indicated by your assertion that:
"..[the government is] insulting our intelligence by saying that we didnt know what we were voting about!

Mmm... you'll actually find that it's not the government saying that. It was the people themselves. A large MAJORITY of people who voted 'no' stated "lack of information" as the reason they opposed it. Apparently they didn't understand what was at stake so they voted no. Similarly, apparently, these people don't have access to computers, the internet, newspapers or bookshops.

So it is not an attack on their intelligence. Unfortunately it is as a RESULT of their intelligence. Or lack thereof.

I voted "yes" last time but if i have to vote again i am voting "NO" ! This is out of order completely. Why have a referendum if we continue voting until they say we have it right. This is not democracy.!

Phil Taylor is a legend. Even better than Eric.

O'Brien is an excellent trainer, but his mentors can buy the best horses. So it is a bit like soccer, you can buy success.

Kilkenny never bought anyone.

The next referendum will incorporate Lisbon and the question of whether or not we want to remain in the EU.
The people will be scared into voting Yes which is what they should have done in the first place.

Considering they don't even bother fielding a football team and only have to peak for 6 weeks of the year makes a feat like the 3 in a row an awful lot easier. Personally I think its a joke that nobody passes any remarks when they don't put out a football team. There's lots of clubs and areas in Meath which concentrate primarily on hurling. If they threw away the hurleys and played only football, we could be going for a three in a row ourselves. But unlike KIlkenny, we don't just neglect one sport. Also its pretty obvious, NSG, that you don't the first thing about racing in Ireland so I could argue that what your saying is "uneducated tripe".

Was reading about Stephen Roche winning the Tour dr France today, brought back some great memories. It was incredible. Ill never forget the day he almost caught Delgado in the mountains and watching as he collapsed after he crossed the line completely drained. The greatest Irish sporting achievement in my book.
