Saha hasn't had a good season since he scored 15 goals in 22 games before leaving to score Man Utd.

Pats got Hertha Berlin. Not a bad draw considering who they could have got. German League is of a very poor standard (Bayern Munich got hammered by Zenit 4-0 away in the UEFA cup semi final last year) and they could go through if they get an away goal or two.

I wonder would they have rathered a real easy game, or a glamour tie like AC Milan. Obviously they'd want to progress but you often see smaller teams looking for a really big team in football draws so they will get higher exposure and maybe more money.

Bad defeat for man u tonight, but I doubt they'll lose any sleep over it. And what about paul scholes! Eat your heart out donaghy, what a finish from the wee man, he wouldn't look out of place on the square in croker with accuracy like that!

Liam, Everton certainly have a decent first 11 when everybody's fit not a strong squad!! No strength in depth at all, though the arrival of Saha will help, if they can keep him fit.

So the rumours were right, Poulter didn't paly the Jonnie Walker Classic because he had already got the wildcard from Faldo. It is a real pity for Darren Clarke after showing such great form recently, Poulter has had one good finish this year (2nd in The Open) while Clarke hsa had two victories and is peaking at the right time.
I can't imagine this will be good for morale in the European team.

Think clarke is gettign a raw deal, Grand i'd pick poulter before Monty alright as monty isn't on form lately. Poulter hasn't done much this season, and think clarke is always goos for a point or a half when the pressure is on.

Is it a case of Faldo looking after his own?

The best part about the whole think was poulter didn't even make the cut at the weekend. Bit of a joke being honest. I think with quite an few ryder cup rookies he would have been better selecting Clarke for his experience.

Think clark is more of a team player too, poulter a bit of a me feiner with it fancy pants and all that, could see him bottle it under pressure hope i'm not proved right. After the all the emotions of the last ryder cup and clarke preformance in that i thought he would be a shoe in.

Poulter has had one top twenty finish all season and Faldo says he picked them on form, he is just a "fancy dan" and he will be shown up in the Ryder Cup.

So finnan is of to espaynol. A good move or bad move? Think the move form lpool will do him no harm, hopefully he'll secure himself a regular place now.

monty , dont particulary like him but he has never lost a ryder cup match - different form of golf to usual tournament golf , tiger never does well as not suited to his mentality, should have took darren clarke and monty better than mr fancy pants poulter show man with no substance.

faldo treading on thin ice . eurpoe are infintely stronger than amercia and his team selection could cost the team victory

clarke hasnt played well for three years. cant let sentiment get in the way of building a successful team. sorry for clarke but thats the way sport is sometimes.

Clarke has an excellent record with Garcia and Westwood.

Look at it from an American newcomers viewpoint. He is told he is playing Monty and thinks "This will be tough, look at his record". He is then told he is playing Poulter and thinks "Is that the eejit in the funny trousers who says he is the second best player in the world?".

Psychologically, Monty and Clarke may have been better picks.

Clarke is very inconsistant of late. Too much of a risk. Poulter was 2nd in British Open and is playing reasonably well.

what ever about Poulter what about Casey. I think Martin Kaymer is more disappointed than Clarke as he was so close to qualifying automatically.
