If Drogheda had sneaked past Dynamo Kiev who knows, Kiev walloped Spartak Moscow 8-2 on aggregate so Spartak obviously aren't great. If the likes of BATE and Famagusta can get there no reason why a League of Ireland club can't. Hard to see teams like that competing though, they could get a hammering or two. BATE only get around 4 to 5,000 at home games so way out of their depth here. But fair play to them all the same.

Lads Normally I look into the soccer to often but this looked reasonable enough given that its of local interest, do St Pats not qualify for the group stages now that they are through to the first round proper?

The other thing Id like to ask is what does people think of the Play-off situation now brought into the magners League? Would this suit the IFA and FAI premier leagues as it would bring big high profile games or would it just be another shot in the dark? The GAA have this in Hurling but no longer have it in football why? I think its stupid to have a final with the top two what about the two after the second placed team why not have semis but thats for a gaa thread so i'll **** up now.

Seee Everton just bought Saha. Great signing. Yakubu and Saha is some strike force!! I'd say with Arteta, Cahill, Lescott, Yobo, Howard, Neville, Piennar etc they defo have the strongest squad outside the top 4

if the chap can stay injury free he might find the form he once had at fulham..but that hasn't happened in years, or even shown glimpses of it. so i dont think its a good signing. andy johnson is better and they got rid of him.. and everton are on about champs league football? nahhhH!

A fully fit saha is better than johnson, but who knows how many games they have a fully fit saha for. A good signing if they can keep him injury free(yeah right), and this seems to confirm berbatov is going to united despite what ferguson says.

yea but saha hasn't been fully fit in years- always injured, then back for a few, then injured. how long has he been at utd, and what has he done? AJ anyday over him -provides consistency and a good work rate as well as a few goals
