The 4th pot for the champions league group stages does look brutal alright, you'd hardly have ever heard of half of those teams. mid-mon man (Monaghan) - Posts: 1680 - 28/08/2008 12:31:10 87349 Link 0 |
If Drogheda had sneaked past Dynamo Kiev who knows, Kiev walloped Spartak Moscow 8-2 on aggregate so Spartak obviously aren't great. If the likes of BATE and Famagusta can get there no reason why a League of Ireland club can't. Hard to see teams like that competing though, they could get a hammering or two. BATE only get around 4 to 5,000 at home games so way out of their depth here. But fair play to them all the same. aidangalway (Galway) - Posts: 648 - 28/08/2008 12:40:30 87373 Link 0 |

I wonder was Cavan_Slasher the only boy in his class not to make the team?? Is that why he hates football(soccer) so much??? TheRevolution (Mayo) - Posts: 487 - 28/08/2008 12:59:32 87413 Link 0 |

Revolution, You could'nt make it in your own sport ??? Saw you on about this "WE" business again. Were you playing for Liverpool with the two locals. Cavan_Slasher (Cavan) - Posts: 10253 - 28/08/2008 19:18:59 87934 Link 0 |
Lads Normally I look into the soccer to often but this looked reasonable enough given that its of local interest, do St Pats not qualify for the group stages now that they are through to the first round proper? North Side Gael (None) - Posts: 1076 - 29/08/2008 07:43:46 88059 Link 0 |
NSG i believe they still have to play another to legged game against a half decent team (probably dundee united or another power house like that) before they can qualify for the group stage proper. daytona11 (Kildare) - Posts: 4012 - 29/08/2008 10:13:50 88131 Link 0 |
pats are only assured of two further games in europe. 1 in 5 chance of getting ac milan! 12 o clock is the time of the draw.. seanieGG (Meath) - Posts: 182 - 29/08/2008 10:23:19 88139 Link 0 |

Seee Everton just bought Saha. Great signing. Yakubu and Saha is some strike force!! I'd say with Arteta, Cahill, Lescott, Yobo, Howard, Neville, Piennar etc they defo have the strongest squad outside the top 4 Liamwalkinstown (Dublin) - Posts: 8166 - 29/08/2008 11:25:16 88230 Link 0 |
if the chap can stay injury free he might find the form he once had at fulham..but that hasn't happened in years, or even shown glimpses of it. so i dont think its a good signing. andy johnson is better and they got rid of him.. and everton are on about champs league football? nahhhH! seanieGG (Meath) - Posts: 182 - 29/08/2008 11:33:52 88244 Link 0 |
Yeah Liam they'll be unstoppable - for the 3 games a season you get out of Saha!!! :-) JayoCluxton (Dublin) - Posts: 2688 - 29/08/2008 11:40:11 88249 Link 0 |
A fully fit saha is better than johnson, but who knows how many games they have a fully fit saha for. A good signing if they can keep him injury free(yeah right), and this seems to confirm berbatov is going to united despite what ferguson says. mid-mon man (Monaghan) - Posts: 1680 - 29/08/2008 11:54:13 88275 Link 0 |
yea but saha hasn't been fully fit in years- always injured, then back for a few, then injured. how long has he been at utd, and what has he done? AJ anyday over him -provides consistency and a good work rate as well as a few goals seanieGG (Meath) - Posts: 182 - 29/08/2008 12:06:06 88295 Link 0 |
Saha will score more gaols in 20 games for Everton than Johnson would have in 80. Great signing and worth a gamble by Moyes. denzel (None) - Posts: 452 - 29/08/2008 12:23:28 88333 Link 0 |

so with BOD dropping the captaincy with "The Goys" he will follow suit with Ireland or is he just gonna concentrate his captaincy skills with the international side.... Liamwalkinstown (Dublin) - Posts: 8166 - 29/08/2008 16:17:10 88634 Link 0 |
