I wonder if the 2 Dublin boxers winning had anything to do with them wearing blue & facing opponents wearing the red & white of Tyrone......-)

Wow, I thought watching the 100m was something but Usain Bolt in the 200m was even better. Won the gold(obviously) and broke michael johnson's 12 year old world record with a time of 19.30. Just incredible.

Usain Bolt could have beat the record in the heats only he slowed down and started jogging the last 10-15 meters. I expected him to beat the world record.

Its great to see the Irish Boxers doing so well hopefully they can beat GB.

I'm sick of hearing in the media how well Gb have done so far. Saying that I was really impressed by the cycling

Dwinkle - yep he was 9-1 up after 3 rounds but finished 11-1 - awesome score and at such a stage. May have got confused with Kenny Egan winning 9-0 too. Imagine 20-1 between the two bouts - added to Paddy Barnes' destruction of the Polish fighther it is awesome stuff! Agree with mid-mon man - preparation (physical and mental), confidence and spirit seem to be perfect and the corner are brilliant before, after and especially during bouts! Take a bow Billy Walsh et al! I really think there is a great chance of vastly improving on the already amazing haul of 3 bronzes!

I was very dissappointed to hear that Denis Lynch's horse Lantinus has tested positive for banned substances and has is gone from the Olympics. Surely these drug tests should take place before the event to ensure that they are not allowed to compete and hence not give us false hopes.
Why have they not learned from the Waterford Crystal/Cian O'Connor saga.

Another irish horse has failed a drugs test! Honestly, you'd think they'd have learned after the waterford crystal debacle! Dennis Lynch was supposed to take part in the equestrian later on but is now suspended. For the amount of olympians we send over we sure have alot of controversy around them!

Very disappionted to hear about the failed drugs test. These people shame their country and make a mockery of us all to the olympic community.

How some continue to earn a living from equestrian sport and maintain a public profile is beyond me.

A disgrace.

Interesting too to see the cat fighting in the athletics and the blame game starting between the various bodies. Injured athletes going to Beijing and the like - either JerryMcKiernan or Eamon Coughlan reckons some B athletes were brought just so that more 'blazers' could be brought. Sounds like the way the FAI was before Keano went ballistic! They should look at the boxers to see how things are done properly!!

Yeah, that was Kiernan who made the claim about the B athletes last night. Marty Morrissey did an "expose" last night with interviews with all the "players" It was quite good actually. Coghlan didn't want to discuss it though - said it wasn't the place for it. Of course it was - a national audience - they should have let rip!!

Talk about drama in the relays! Pity the fastest didn't get through. Whats the odds on Powell or Bolt making a mistake in the final!?

Seriously...them americans mustn't have hands to wip their ****s! Suppose they should be glad they got to the 3rd changeover in both! GB looked good until the last leg.....they could have put it up to the jamaicans with their superior changeovers.
