I know guys ye are talking about young footballers but it is also interesting to look at young hurlers too who may make the break through in the next year or two. I know it has been mentioned lately but maybe it should be mentoned more so limerick managers maybe aware. From what I have seen the last couple of years i cant believe Pauric O' Shea from Pallaskenry or Killulta gaels if you wish is being over looked from the county panel. He is very fast and has a sharp eye for a score. his usual position is wing back but he definately has the range to score from the middle of the field. he is one of the fatsest players I have seen in years Has anyone else seen him? what do ye think or is there any oter hurlers that deserve a mention??? johno87 (Limerick) - Posts: 39 - 19/04/2009 13:29:42 262045 Link 0 |
I watched Killulta Gaels once last year v. St. Pats in the U21 City hurling final. I don't know if that young lad was playing. POD09 (Limerick) - Posts: 486 - 19/04/2009 15:24:09 262098 Link 0 |

Good morning neighbours, myself and the middle fella were listening to 95fm on the wireless this morning while milking before school and things getting messy in limerick now,but anaway we doing a bit ot "tracing" about good young fellas in limerick. The middle fella won a nenagh cup wit tipp in thurles u16 against the galway boys.he said that tey played limerick a good few times and that they tough but we bet them each time by 1 or 2 pts only.he listed out brian murphy, sean dowling,pa carroll,o.riordan, morressey, and mike carmody impressed him the most and look to be there for the future. yes i agree with angrybeaver on this one! young scanlan from monagea is a very good hurler but needs to keep his consistency! he goes through great patches and then into awful slumps! i av hurled against him this year in the minor 12-a side championship and he won the game for them with some great scores! i think also he plays rugby and this might be holding him back from going forward in his hurling paths! a big lad but if he manages to stay off the junk could turn into a spark for the future! Iv been watching west clubs for years now and have seen a fair share of young fellas pass trough the ranks and scanlan is not one of them. Sorry. Monagea do have some quality youngsters coming on at both u16 and minors, dont know any thing below that. From clubs from the west i expect fena-kilmeedy and monagea to improve the most over the next 3-4 years. I also think its obivious to see the decline in others such tour, kileedy and knockaderry. kilmeedy.kid (Limerick) - Posts: 12 - 11/11/2009 18:56:19 481450 Link 0 |
Fair point! but from playing against him he seems a good hurler! i av also played against the monagea U16 team this year! who do you think is impressive from both teams?? bench_warmer (Limerick) - Posts: 12 - 11/11/2009 20:33:08 481528 Link 0 |
Killmeedy-kid i cant see ye improving that much over the next fw years, was at thi minor semi final against Monagae and the ref made some shocking decisions and Feenagh were not that impressive. They have a few good big strong hurlers out the field but a lot of there players have very little hurling as i suppose you would expect at 12a side. But I thought Monagae had a very strong team perticulary the 2 county boys Ciotog (Limerick) - Posts: 56 - 11/11/2009 21:09:06 481572 Link 0 |
