Based on players I got to see, I'd say Humpy in the hurling and probably Sean Kelly in the football. On reputation, Kevin Armstrong both codes. pearsesabu (Antrim) - Posts: 663 - 17/04/2009 09:41:01 259939 Link 0 |

Ger Heavin was Westmeath's best. A far better scorer than Dessie Dolan, he just had no support! Lakeman (Westmeath) - Posts: 11 - 17/04/2009 12:27:54 260117 Link 0 |

My father still tells yarns about the rackards but in my lifetime (30ish) Liam Dunne. I will never forget his duels with John Power - they were always fierce and always hard hitting but always on the ball and when the game was over hands were always shook and I once heard a story of Liam asking John how the corn was growing!! Great sportsman. A close second to Damian Fitzhenry, Martin Storey, and Larry O'Gorman. Pinkie (Wexford) - Posts: 4100 - 17/04/2009 13:25:12 260210 Link 0 |
