I was at the match 2day and Offaly should have won.. we controlled the game up on till the last ten minute's and made mistakes tat cost us the match.. Belive me offaly are improving by the week under new boss tom cribben and coach vinne claffey. also are forward tomas deehan didnt start the macth and would av scored a goal in the first half.

offaly forward Niall Mcnamee destroyed yer full back line at times they couldnt handle him..
i would be more than happy to meet laois in this years championship I think we would do yee's.

Laois football is on the way down bigtime yer not the team yee were two years ago.. yer in decline fact!!
Anyways look forward 2 playing yee in div 2 next year tats if Laois are not relegated an im not tryin 2 wind up yee laois men.. fare play to Laois beating Offaly ina CHALLENGE MATCH!!!!!!!!!!

Niall Mcnamee is a top class forward who will destroy many a forward line this year.
Donie Kingston did a lot of damage to your full back line too so it looks like we all have something to worry about...

Offaly Rover. Firstly, Niall McNamee would give any backline a hard time. Im glad he played well so our fullback line could get some more experience marking top forwards but I do recall a Leinster final 2 years ago v. Dublin where he was the ONLY threat & ye were still destroyed despite his talents. One man doesnt make a winning team & the sooner ye learn that the better...but the thing with Offaly is, theres always just one star..never anyone else. Ciaran McManus is another good example from a few years ago. He was great but he was surrounded by inability on the pitch and nothing has really changed. Secondly, your right to highlight that it was a challenge match. All we wanted was good close game to stay match fit and we got that. Thanks! But ye have to accept that despite our apparant decline we are head and shoulders above ye and would beat ye hands down in the championship. An 18 year old schoolboy waltzed through ye...imagine what a full Laois team in full flow would do. Look ye are minnows and we have bigger fish to fry!!

Offaly Rover. Look, I hate to sound like a linguistic snob but I cant really cant understand what your sayin half the time man.

From what I can make out; I never said Laois were big fish. Ill eat my hat if we get as far as AI Semi in the near future & Im well aware of our limits. But ye have to except that its not the 80s anymore, ye are a very very poor team. I mean OK, we dont have alot of silverware but on the other side of the coin, we werent beat by a shockingly bad Carlow side in the qualifiers in recent years as ye were. Ye are a pale shadow of yer former selves. Just accept it as we do our limitations. I know were only worthy of division 2 status but at least were up there, Im not even sure if ye are worthy of Division 3!!

yes carlow did beat us a few years back and that was disgraceful ,ye have had a few bad days like that yerselves. the most recent being monaghan at home by 19 pionts .i suppose i can kinda understant ye being so bitter lads but i really think its time to get over it .we are no world beaters but i can assure ye that serious work is going on to bring us back to where we belong and thats somewhere ye have never being .

In fairness liffo. Were not the ones goin to another counties boards and startin windups like your compatriot there. In fact I had a look at yer boards and the thread on the game at the weekend had a total of zero posts from Laoismen...or anyone for that matter...looks like yer the ones with the obsession. Lads in fairness, its just a challenge game that Laois happen to win. Both teams are going to find it fairly difficult this year, personally dont know what the fuss is about. This game should be forgotten about, the game between Carlow and Louth wont be too long around, and then we'll know who we are up against. While Offaly have a match in a few weeks against Kildare.
