Interesting that all the Ards teams are fielding 3rds and also good that Ballela seem to be in the league.

Seems there's been a changes of heart in Ards, Ballela and Bredagh!

Great to see all those teams back. At the County Board meeting 2 weeks ago it was looking grim.

I believe that division 2, not sure about division 1, is 13 a side.

Plus, the named players was going to be reduced slightly for ards 1sts, 2nds and bredagh.

That's why those teams are back in.

I still think it will be hard for the three Ards clubs to name 28 players before they can field a thirds team and field two teams in the one night................well we will see.

Good point Up the Duff. CCC showing a bit of common sense to keep clubs playing hurling.

I had heard at the weekend there that Ballela had folded. Hopefully this isn't the case.

Seems there will be no Down leagues next year. Being replaced by a new Ulster league running from April to July. Down teams will be graded along with Armagh, Louth and Tyrone teams and play 10 games. The JHC will be in August with a round robin giving at least another 3 games.

I thought our own leagues were pretty good last year?

Seems there is some truth in this new league stuff. Seconds and 3rds can enter. Doesn't affect the Antrim league at all.

destined to fail, good in theory but shows that down literally want nothing to do with organising club hurling.
Shocking stuff.
However down division 1 and the armagh div 1 maybe could have a combined league? worth a punt. Itd help both parties.

I do agree, the co board dinny want te have the problem with hurlin. Armagh and Down combination? Logistically it would be a mare. travelling for evening games te Armagh wouldny work for Ards teams.
