Just heard in a local watering establishment last week end that the Ports senior management was sorted, Marty, Philly and Eamo. Crans had appointed Simon Wilson, Gazza and Colly McManus and Galgets had Spike, Pete McKenna and Paddy Coulter. Any truth?

If Cahill is correct with the Portaferry appointments I am afraid to say they still haven't moved on. Their training is dated and their match tactics are non existent which has been highlighted in the last Ulster final. It takes more than heart and luck to win an Ulster championships and they have to move out of the 90s to do so.

Excuse my ignorance, but are you saying there is not a ACHL Div I and there is not an ACHL Div II, but there is one ACHL which will consist of all these teams that made up these leagues last year, being lumped into one? Is that correct???
I can see issues with that already... will that mean that the Ards second teams will be playing their thrid teams in the same league?????

Has a night (Monday or Tuesday) been allocated for these games yet? When does the league actually start?

Ballycran will struggle to field a 3rd team as well.

The league fixtures are on Monday night as usual, postponed games must be played within the week of original fixture. The teams in the league are at the minute:

Ballycran 2nds
Portaferry 2nds
Ballygalget 2nds
Bredagh 2nds
Warrenpoint
Newry Shamrocks
Castlewellan
Clonduff
Liatroim
Kilclief
Ballyvarley
Ballela
Carryduff

6 fixtures on the Monday night with one team having a BYE, not sure if its gonna be one round of fixtures or each team play each other twice (if so then that's 24 matches each!) League could start earlier because of this

10. Bredagh 2nds

Hopefully the county board and hurling committee release details of the coming season soon to clarify all this. Bit of uncertainty with some of the clubs such as Liatroim, Kilclief, Castlewellan, Ballyvarley and Ballela as regard to numbers. Clonduff, Warrenpoint, Shamrocks and Carryduff seem to be healthy enough and some of them training again. It explains the lack of Down teams in the Ulster League, hopefully all the clubs can get the numbers together for the season and not field due to player shortage

BB it can not be 24 games, look at it logically ..........that's 6 months of hurlin. They couldny get div1 finished when there was a smaller league, 24 matches .......nay.

maybe running the league off with each team playing each other once and then top four play semi-finals/finals. Or just top two play in league final?
