Shamrocks have lost some of their best players and struggle for numbers. They're not the side they were. Frank Mitchell (Down) - Posts: 1082 - 13/06/2012 09:15:31 1193196 Link 0 |
You'd be better starting a team off in Down Div2 rather than the lower leagues in Antrim, especially if they're youngish as there's very little dirt in the Down leagues compared to what you'd get in the lower tier stuff in Antrim. Don't know much about the Armagh leagues. bricktop (Down) - Posts: 2503 - 13/06/2012 09:31:45 1193207 Link 0 |
Division 2 in Down is a good competitive league as well, anyone can beat anyone, I'm sure there would be consideration for yous since Galgets and Ports 3rds finished up and more clubs entering senior hurling in the coming years like Mourne, St Pauls and Downpatrick. With Armagh you've less hurling clubs, meaning less games, and most Down clubs would be willing to give ya a challenge match often enough too BarrackBuster (Down) - Posts: 525 - 13/06/2012 10:06:13 1193242 Link 0 |
Thanks lads, seems like i was correct in my thinking, Down hurling people have always been good people and proud hurling communities, hopefully between my club and our counties we can work something out. North Side Gael (None) - Posts: 1076 - 13/06/2012 12:34:10 1193388 Link 0 |
I think any new team thats going to bring added competition to the leagues should be welcomed. the_guvner (Down) - Posts: 318 - 13/06/2012 13:16:51 1193424 Link 0 |

Newry beat Carryduff by a point THEMOLE2 (Down) - Posts: 1615 - 19/06/2012 11:27:33 1197604 Link 0 |
Good win for Clonduff and you have to fancy them for promotion after they beat Ballyvarley and Ballela gettin beat too. That was a great win for Liatroim considering the heavy defeat the Crans gave them at McKenna earlier in the season, they've been the best south Down team easily this season. Portaferry have been very impressive with their young fit side, Castlewellan have had so much injuries and fellas away, they're not the team they were last year, Ballyglaget V Warrenpoint was a tight enough encounter as well BarrackBuster (Down) - Posts: 525 - 19/06/2012 11:43:21 1197628 Link 0 |
