You would love to have the prodigal son on your team cement heed....the big man is out in Oz trying to earn a crust like a lot of other young men and women who can't earn decent living over here, no doubt he will return at some stage but it won't be for a while...and when he does he will be welcomed with open arms, in the mean time life goes on so you just keep worrying about your own club.

Yeah that Carryduff V Ballycran match in Div 2 is on Friday night @ 7:30pm

Here's Monday nights fixtures:

ACHL Div 1-
Ballygalget V Liatroim
Portaferry V Warrenpoint
Ballycran V Kilclief
Castlewellan BYE

ACHL Div 2-
Bredagh V Clonduff
Shamrocks V Ballycran
Ballyvarley V Carryduff
Ballela BYE

In Division 1, Portaferry sit top having won every game, Liatroim, Ballycran and Ballygalget will do well to catch them, with Ballycran having some games in hand, Warrenpoint and Kilclief form has been varied but when they are at full strength will still be expected to challenge the teams above them. Castlewellan are unfortunate not to have a result yet having been fairly competitive but have been hit with injuries and are a very young team with potential, they will do well to stay up but no doubt learn from the experience

Division 2 was always gonna be tight and there's 4 teams there still in with a shout for promotion, Ballyvarley, Ballela, Clonduff and Shamrocks (who have many games in hand). Ballyvarley have injuries and will have to dig deep have been beaten by Bredagh recently, Ballela are usually strong at home but struggle on the road, Clonduff were always gonna be close to the top after nearly getting promoted last year. Bredagh have improved recently and starting to challenge teams above them, while Carryduff will have to work harder to meet their goals. Both leagues have a lot of fixtures left to play, let's hope the county board puts the foot down on fixtures not being fulfilled

ACHL Div 1-
Ballygalget V Liatroim- Galgets by 2 or 3, was a close game last time, and both are pushing for the top
Portaferry V Warrenpoint- Ports by 6, the point don't like travelling to Ards, but will be close as well, Ports should keep their winning streak
Ballycran V Kilclief- Crans by 3, though Crans will be stretched and Kilclief will want to make an impression for the senior championship
Castlewellan BYE

ACHL Div 2-
Bredagh V Clonduff- Clonduff by 3, Bredagh are improving but Clonduff close to top after beating Ballela last Monday
Shamrocks V Ballycran- Shamrocks by 3, hard to judge Shamrocks as they've played so few games, long journey for Cran Thirds
Ballyvarley V Carryduff- Ballyvarley by 2, Ballyvarley hit bad with injuries but should get over the line against Carryduff at home
Ballela BYE

Embarrassing display by Warrenpoint last night. For a team that is supposedly on the up I would hate to see those who are on their way down. Game was over after 7 mins.

Warrenpoint aren't the same team when they travel, far better at home, 32 point win for Portaferry the league is theirs to lose

Just curiosity here, but how are the shamrocks in div2 in down? I remember a few years ago they would have been on par with many Antrim intermediate sides but the down div2 wouldnt be that standard.

Another reason i ask is im looking into entering a new adult hurling team into a league, we are in Antrim but that standard goes from very poor to very high in the lowest division and we are looking at down and armagh to see if their lowest divisions would possibly suit us better, the team will be a mix of minors and old hands and some adults whove only taken the game up for first time since juvenile, but we need to enter a team as we dont want our youth system falling away to nothing. Any advice greatly appreciated.
