Almost halfway through the league stages with a couple of refixes to be sorted out yet, these are Mondays fixtures

ACHL Div 1-
Ballygalget V Ballycran
Castlewellan V Liatroim
Portaferry V Kilclief
Warrenpoint BYE

ACHL Div 2-
Ballela V Ballyvarley
Shamrocks V Clonduff
Bredagh V Carryduff
Ballycran BYE

Who's gonna win these, bear in mind the Antrim league and Feis Sevens on the day before

ACHL Div 1-
Ballygalget V Ballycran - Ballycran by 5. Ballycran hammered galgets early season
Castlewellan V Liatroim - Liatoim by 8. Both with 7s before but liatroim a far more skillful team
Portaferry V Kilclief - Portaferry by 8.

ACHL Div 2-
Ballela V Ballyvarley - Ballyvarley by 4
Shamrocks V Clonduff. Shamrocks by 7 or 8. Dont think clonduff will have the legs after 7s
Bredagh V Carryduff - Caryduff just about. Again tough with 7s beforehand

Warrenpoint for the 7s

ACHL Div 1-
Ballygalget V Ballycran- Crans by 2, think they'll just pip the Galgets
Castlewellan V Liatroim- Liatroim by 3, both teams have injuries but Town have sevens the day before, should be a cracking derby nonetheless
Portaferry V Kilclief- Ports by 5, Kilclief have been impressive in their last 2 games, but much tougher opposition here

ACHL Div 2-
Ballela V Ballyvarley- Ballela by 2, another great derby, Ballela strong at home and Ballyvarley without Paul O'Neill, will be close
Shamrocks V Clonduff- Shamrocks by 3, Clonduff have sevens the day before and Shamrocks will want to keep the pressure up in the league
Bredagh V Carryduff- Bredagh by 3, they are improving and ran Ballela close, the Duff will have too many fellas doing exams as well as sevens the day before

i heard warrenpoint didnt turn up to the 7's any reason why,

i suppose then castlewellan played 1 less match in that heat gave them an advantage in the final

Aye I think Warrenpoint were due to play Cwellan at half 1 in Liatroim but they must have got their times mixed up and hadn't showed by 2 so the match was awarded to the Town. The semi between Clonduff and Carryduff was played the full length of the pitch as well which was strange, and the final was delayed cos of the minor football sevens match going to extra time, long wait for both sides

Youd have thought 'duff would be happy after having an extra game with playing on a shorter 7s pitch yet they apparently played under protest whatever that meant. Fact was they obviously werent up to speed with 7s and got ripped a new one. 5-9 2-3 or something. Should have concentrated on game instead of nonsense.

How does the hurling leagues in the north work? The Down teams that play in divison 1 of the Antrim leagues is that their 1st teams? Do the Ards clubs then play their 2nds in division 1 of the Down league and some have teams in the 2nd division of the down leagues. Then what about the Ulster hurling leagues where you also have Down teams playing. Can someone please explain how the club structure works up north?

Your spot on doubletree, the 3 ards clubs play their 1st in Antrim Div 1, their seconds in Down Div 1 which would be more intermediate and they also play in the Antrim Div 1 Reserve league, and they used to field 3rds teams in Down Div 2 which is more junior level, though Ballycran still have a team there. The Ulster league is largely made up of teams from Antrim, Down, Armagh and Derry with a few from the other Ulster counties as well as Louth, Longford and there was a team from Sligo as well. Also Bredagh from south Belfast play their first team in Antrim Div 3 and their seconds in Down Div 2, Clonduff used to play in the Armagh league as well I think
