whats happening with the IHC idea that was supposed to be brought in with the use of the money from the south down fund going to it instead. or was this passed but they will break promises and scrap the idea and inject the money back into football? id guess the latter.

Doesn't look like its going ahead matey! There hasn't been any sign of it on the proposed fixtures sheet on the Down website, just league JHC and SHC catered for, buyt nothing finalized yet. Been waiting a long time for the fixtures and the first fixtures are to be played at the start of April

Put things back the way they were with the Ards clubs back in the junior and intermediate championships

Leagues sorted. 2 way fixtures and IHC back with seconds playing amalgamations. No impact on Ulster as none of them can enter anyway. Not a bad outcome IMO.

Heard a rumour that Darragh Cross are entering a team into Division 2 this year? Anyone else hear about it?

I heard it was a Darragh Cross/Downpatrick amalgamation. They are in the draw for the JHC as well.

Has the JHC/SHC draw been made? And what about league fixtures, surely it all could have been organised and published by now! All the footballers (including thirds teams!) have known who they play and when the rest of the season for a while now. Last season the fixtures for ACHL Div 1 & 2 were out a good 2 months before they started, but not a single thing yet?

Football is becoming the priority out in Liatriom nevermind the emigration that's decimated the hurling squad. Ballela are on the same page from what I've heard, but you can understand how emigration will affect clubs like these two more than say Shamrocks or Bredagh!

Anyone know yet if Crans and Ports are fielding 3rds teams this year. The Ports were able to rearrange fixtures last year to make sure their 2nds and 3rds were nt playing on the same night, nobody else got away with that.Maybe it will be different this year

low on numbers in the ards like we dont have a deep pool to choose from , also if the ballela and liatroim boys start falling away its K.O for down hurling

we should of had more non ards players in the squads over the last few years to get them the experience they needed as you never know wots round the corner even if they dont get a game

using an example, in soccer teams can put their youth players into the squad to train with and also on trips to games of a higher standard than what they are playin e.g. reserves, 1st team
