crybluff abis its the same Castlewellan team who got beat in the junior final by the same team who were stuffed of the pitch by the mighty galgets last week. Junior champions my arse! cahill (None) - Posts: 2567 - 21/09/2011 21:14:56 1040049 Link 0 |
Ive been told ballycran had a senior panellist sent off in Clonduff on saturday?? id ask why he got sent off but im quicker to ask why a senior panellist was playing for ballycran thirds? Clonduff_Man (Down) - Posts: 22 - 21/09/2011 21:28:58 1040074 Link 0 |

Nosides either them or shamrocks will have to go down if c/wellan go up so no matter who goes back to them they need more points than newry. TheKingdomgael (Down) - Posts: 167 - 22/09/2011 18:13:33 1040585 Link 0 |
Down website updated slightly, shows Castlewellan and Bredaghs final standings after 14 games. Ballygalget V Carryduff still not updated. Dunno about Portaferry V Ballycran fixture even happening as it wouldnt affect league standings. It was a tight enough league this year Div 2, but Portaferry walked it. Is Div 1 getting finished because the cut-off date for hurling is this Sunday I believe, with the relegation issue still to be sorted? nice to see that the ulster council still hasn't changed its stance on antrim getting a bye into the final for 2012 in senior and minor Carryduff_Abu (Down) - Posts: 206 - 23/09/2011 12:30:30 1040909 Link 0 |
ballela would eat down div 2 alive , they are way too strong for that league. Shame to see theyve not got a lot coming through though , however on the lads post above it is promising to hear some young lads (albeit 2 or 3) are stepping up and filling the void. Good luck to the Down teams in action this weekend. With the exception of Ballygalgets win in the senior 4 or 5 years ago Down teams haven't done well in Ulster. Frank Mitchell (Down) - Posts: 1082 - 30/09/2011 10:34:58 1044330 Link 0 |
Love to see Carryduff do well. But I cant see them getting past Creggan. If Burt get past Strabane this weekend, they will beat winners of Monaghan/Na Magha. Creggan will beat Ballymchugh. It will be a Burt/Creggan final with Burt to win in the final. Burt are a league above this level, but championship can give strange results at times. christy sting (Derry) - Posts: 262 - 30/09/2011 14:01:42 1044512 Link 0 |

Are Burt not due to play St Galls seniors in the final of the ulster hurling league? They should walk that junior ulster. I think Kilclief will beat Castleblaney. Would also like to see Carryduff win but it will be tough for them. weepats5 (Down) - Posts: 295 - 30/09/2011 14:52:37 1044558 Link 0 |
Good point "last to know". But Andy Wallace seems to have Burt really focused this year, the Lory Meagher win gave the whole county a lift. Strabane will be seriously hard to beat though-so an upset here wouldnt be unexpected. As i said if they beat Strabane they will beat Monaghan or Na Magha who I believe already beat Lisnaskea in preliminary round. christy sting (Derry) - Posts: 262 - 30/09/2011 15:50:53 1044610 Link 0 |

Creggan are good at this level, thats what happened. Creggan will dispose of Ballymchugh with ease at this rate in semi. Does anyone know why Burt/Strabane wasnt played? Na Magha beat Monaghan Harps, so they will play Strabane/Burt. Still looks like Creggan/Burt final. christy sting (Derry) - Posts: 262 - 02/10/2011 18:18:48 1045325 Link 0 |
Shocking display from Carryduff today! They are the Down Junior champions and they get beat by 20 odd points by a Antrim Div 4 outfit. Pathetic. Frank Mitchell (Down) - Posts: 1082 - 02/10/2011 19:47:16 1045371 Link 0 |
To be fair to carryduff, Cregin are a fantastic outfit. They would have beat any of the intermediate teams playing today with ease also. cornerback2 (Down) - Posts: 12 - 02/10/2011 21:51:54 1045445 Link 0 |
