The ards put out ridiculous teams in the betsy grey.its not a 3rds champ at all the teams yous bai's put out.uz have teams made up of 2nds and 1st players fs hence the reason why the other clubs dont take it seriously ceathru (Down) - Posts: 163 - 22/08/2011 12:57:17 1016243 Link 0 |
if boys take the easy option to try to win the "easier" competition, then they will get nowhere. time to man up and give it a lash again the ards 3 Long_John (Down) - Posts: 299 - 22/08/2011 16:52:48 1016561 Link 0 |
thought the carryduff castlewellan junior final was one of the most exciting matches i had seen all year. Duff were superb 1st half, didnt have programme, but their full forward and midfielders were awesome. 2nd half was exciting, without being flooded with quality, and castlwellan fought back valiantly. 2 in a week for the duff, i would say they are partying up in Belfast. cdl (Down) - Posts: 41 - 22/08/2011 18:28:51 1016672 Link 0 |
shut up with that rubbish ! Its not a 3rds champ?! are you on drugs? stop complaining, its our named 3rds lads , we always switch between 2nds lads because we are small clubs who have lads who will be aiming to improve themselves in 2nds leagues , 8 or 9 of the 2nds panel will be the better 3rds lads......it stands to bloody sense. Glad 2 see bredagh and the duffers holdin their own in their respective leagues. bredagh left div1 in down 2 concentrate in div3 in Antrim, i see it's goin well. cahill (None) - Posts: 2567 - 23/08/2011 11:13:26 1016994 Link 0 |
Another idiotic comment from cahill. im not sure what club your from but not one of the ards teams is exactly setting the world on fire. you take a lot of interest in bredagh and carryduff. anyone would think you were getting worried. bgael (None) - Posts: 211 - 23/08/2011 13:57:30 1017199 Link 0 |

ffs lads/lassies...do ya not think we should be encouraging all hurley teams? we do enough fighting with the footballers/county board...we don't need to fight among the hurley group aswell. Long_John (Down) - Posts: 299 - 23/08/2011 15:26:39 1017302 Link 0 |
Thanks for that Cahill. Yes Bredagh and Carryduff are doing ok considering the short time they have been in existence. Bredagh newly promoted to Div3 in Antrim have recorded 6 wins and 2 draws in what looks like a tight enough league with decent hurling Clubs competing. Their seconds are languishing in Div2 in Down but its a credit that they are at a stage of their developement that they can put out 2 teams and fulfill fixtures. Ballela and Warrenpoint tried it in recent years but couldnt sustain the 2 teams. With Bredaghs numbers and underage structures it will not be long before their seconds are winning matches and competing for honours in Div2. down12792 (Down) - Posts: 123 - 24/08/2011 10:31:45 1017820 Link 0 |
I am delighted 2 see how with a catchment area as big as bredagh have they can field two teams, well done lads. and to see carryduff progress well in the minor again with the large catchment area they had 2 amalgamate to produce a team to win, is that progress? cahill (None) - Posts: 2567 - 24/08/2011 12:28:39 1017939 Link 0 |

Long John - Seems like your last post fell on deaf ears mate. For what it's worth I think you are spot on. Suas Sios (None) - Posts: 1558 - 24/08/2011 14:25:49 1018105 Link 0 |
Sad times Suas Sios. It funny how people on here complain about the support the county board give the hurling people, but yet we won't support/encourage the teams ourselves..... Long_John (Down) - Posts: 299 - 24/08/2011 15:27:08 1018157 Link 0 |
