sour grapes , what planet are you on?

Dont write things like the south teams are improving because they beat bcran or the likes , these teams are a woeful representation of the clubs most of the time, they are near always a rabble.

Also seannie og , well said on that point.

Saturdays antrim league results are as follows:

Ballycran 3-17 3-13 St Johns:
High scoring game was there to witness it , was also eventful and by the end we were lucky to win.

Cushendall 0-18 2-11 Ballygalget:
From what i heard ballygalget depended on their youngster`s and were very unlucky not to get any points in the dall.

Loughgiel 3-27 0-13 Portaferry:
Portaferry simply couldn`t handle loughgeil as the results show.

nosides, y would you not care about the topic of the u18 championship. this year was one of the best! carryduff made history! it deserves to be talked about as they were given so much grief about not having a chance! and galgetman, for a matter of fact gareth oneill started left half back and did not get sent off at all. matt conlan started centre half back, and pete mason started full forward! the only person to be sent off was conor oneill from pferry and it was in the closing minutes of the match! so therefore pferry hav no excuse!

We must be the only County in Ireland who have 2 junior and 2 intermediate championships its a joke.Put it back to the way it was and if the other clubs cant beat the Ards clubs to bad they will just have to improve. Also why cant the Ards clubs compete in the club championships the senior clubs down south also compete at junior and intermediate level

Have to agree with jeremiah. Carryduff got a bye to the JHC final. That's no good for anyone. Winning a JHC used to mean something when there was 8 teams in it.

Seannie Og,

you are saying winning the jhc used to mean something with more than 3 teams in it, are you saying winning the down shc is no achievement as other than this year a team has been getting a bye to the final every year. however itl need to be looked at as whoever wins jnr wil b intermediate nxt yr so whatll happen then, will there just be 2teams, or who decides who goes down?

Three teams in the junior championship that proves my point also if you win a junior or intermediate its essential you move up a level next year thats how you improve if this doesnt happen we will always have just 3 senior clubs

There are 4 teams in the SHC. There aren't any others good enough but 3 intermediate and 3 junior teams are banned from playing in the IHC & JHC. That's the difference.

Antrim run the reserve championship alongside their senior, intermediate and junior championships and if Jeremiah was so annoyed about what championships are in Down then his club should maybe think about entering it.

What's the point in playing the Ards div1 and div2 teams in the intermediate and junior championships when they cannot go on and play in Ulster. That is a Croke park directive, nothing to do with Down county board.

My only gripe with the current set up is the lack of participation and timing of the Joe McCrickard and Betsy Grey. they've ended up getting played in mid november due to football playoffs and the likes, that cannot be allowed to continue.

There is only 1 JHC and IHC; the others are secondary competitions and are treated as such by those outside the Ards.
