Bricktop, what exactly happened? Is this the Newry/Portaferry match last night? St_Peters (Down) - Posts: 85 - 19/07/2011 14:15:03 989267 Link 0 |
jeremiah / Bricktop catch a grip. How would changing from top 12 to top 16 make much of a difference. Get rid of thirds and take the pressure of you lads on a Monday night and throw mainland teams in. One league would defo bring on Cduff, Clduff and Cwellan. Ports 3rds couldnt make it over the water last night. Poor show. sliabhnaslat (Down) - Posts: 93 - 19/07/2011 16:23:46 989470 Link 0 |
No, it was surprisingly Liatroim who at home refused to toss for the ref, so no hurlers got a game last night. bricktop (Down) - Posts: 2503 - 19/07/2011 17:22:57 989557 Link 0 |
Galgets beat Balella 3.21 to 2.14 as for you Slabbernasty having division 1 and 2 on different nites would ease pressure on Ards clubs emptyhead jeremiah (Down) - Posts: 322 - 19/07/2011 20:57:36 989825 Link 0 |

Thanks for that inciteful well thought out response there Jeremiah. Whats your solution to then. The status quo does not serve the best interests of Down Hurling. Give us something more constructive than your 'emptyhead' rant! sliabhnaslat (Down) - Posts: 93 - 20/07/2011 15:39:00 990425 Link 0 |
My solution Slabberman is for the mainland clubs to put more effort into developing hurling in their clubs instead of resenting the Ards clubs for being better.Bredagh and Carryduff are putting the work in to improve and there dual clubs so why cant the rest of you jeremiah (Down) - Posts: 322 - 20/07/2011 21:29:24 990788 Link 0 |
A bit more constructive jer. Pity that you feel the need to engage with fellow hurling men with silly name calling. More effort is needed but some of us are actually working very hard and do not resent anyone in the 'Ards'. sliabhnaslat (Down) - Posts: 93 - 20/07/2011 21:45:49 990806 Link 0 |
The Ards clubs use Div1 and Div2 to get young hurlers just out of U-16 to senior (proper) hurling, whereas you don't see too many 17 to 18 year olds lining out for other clubs, so where are they getting all the hurling they need to keep them interested and involved and not waiver off too football which is on every night of the week. bricktop (Down) - Posts: 2503 - 21/07/2011 11:07:56 990941 Link 0 |

needs to be developed in the schools firstly and promoted better, there is less injuries in u/age hurling than football but the hurling has perception of being rougher, also need more county games in Esler park Bigsheep (Down) - Posts: 290 - 22/07/2011 13:52:51 992018 Link 0 |
