Gazza is a legend!

If there were more men like him around the county we'd be in far better shape.

there is alot tripe here being spoken about newry. the fact is that hurling is minority sport in the city and are up against it, not getting any favours from there own club. give them a break they have to work alot harder than any other club to keep hurling alive. get off your highorse bricktop

I think Liatroim might be on top due to a draw they had with Ballygalget at home earlier on in the year, but with our game in hand being against Ballela I'd hope we'd take the top spot again.

Ballela always struggle for numbers. They only have about 20 adult players.

Any reports on Division 1 games?? We beat a near full strenght point team pretty easily, but has to be said they are making slow progress under current management, from what i heard they have 3 or 4 from the south down team and had 2 so called senior panelists, with a pick like that they should be putting up more of a fight!! We did bring down an average 2nds team as our 3rds were in clonduff the same night.

this for u dj,,A busy seven days with three games was sealed on Monday 30th May with the visit of the Black and Amber Ballycran to Pairc Liam Uí Ir, and for the second time this year, the Blues faced a team laded with Inter-County stars in a selection that again is demonstrative of the changing attitude towards Warrenpoint's Senior Hurlers. Apart from a first half blitz, Warrenpoint matched Ballycran all the way with Karl Maxwell a driving force in the middle of the park, and Liam Rice, confounding the pundits with another exhilarating performance at wing back. Liam was back on the score sheet again, although 25 yards out with just the keeper to beat, we think he could have been a bit less cautious.

Again a huge amount of possession was squandered from defence and hit aimlessly over the sidelines with little thought or design. If the seniors can convert those chances, they will be a force to be reckoned with. Placed balls went begging, and with a few more white flags and a penalty that Declan Ennis saved brilliantly, this could have easily been another famous victory.

I see an underage club called Mourne - Where are they from? i guess it's Kilkeel direction. We need more regional teams at underage. Downpatrick, Saul, Ardglass could all team up. Drumaness, Teconnaght, Loughisland, and Darragh could team up etc.

Just some thoughts.

Ballygalet did get beat by portaferry however as i seen from the sideline ballygalget had three very young players starting and gareth johnson wasn`t introduced into the game until the last twenty minutes. the ports or galgets will win championship this year.
