As Augher scored an equalising point, the Gortin keeper set the ball up on his tee for the kickout and declan connolly knocked the ball of the tee as an attemp to slow down the kickout, this was soon to turn into a brawl as Gortins number 4 seen this and came from behind with a cheap shot on the young Tyrone minor.
All in all I dont blame declan connolly or Gortins number 4 for this fight, I blame the referee. He lost control of this game from early on by handing out stupid yellow cards and stupid free's.

I see Pomeroy have seen the light.
Big win yesterday.
Almost safe.
How many have to play off at the bottom before the relegation playoffs?
I know the next 4 best teams at the top
other than the Championship and League winners have to playoff
before they meet whoever is coming down third place in div 1.
Moortown will have to pull out all the stops next week to stay in the hunt.
Tough one away to Clan na Gael.

The following is an extract from the Tyrone regulations for Div2 in relation to end of year promotion and relegation. Hope this sheds some light on the matter.
14. In Div 2 the team finishing top will be automatically promoted. Should the Championship winners finish top in the League then the second placed League team will be promoted. Teams placed 2 to 5* will play-off 2 v 5 and 3 v 4 (2 and 3 at home). The winners will play-off, at a neutral venue, with winners playing-off against Div 1 Relegation play-off winning team. In Div 2 the bottom placed team will be relegated. A play-off will take place between teams second and third bottom with the second bottom team at home. The losers will be relegated. The winners will play the play-off winner from Division 3 to stay in Division 2.
*excluding Championship winners

Very tight at the bottom of this extremley competitive division. Im a rock man and was at the game yesterday were urney shaded it by 2. Rock without gourley and mccreesh for the 1st half the losing our number 6 mallon through a bad knee injury things were always going tough. Refereeing was of a poor standard were rock got 2 men sent of, and jonny lafferty headbutted ryan crilly and recieved a yellow strange call, id say urney couldn't believe there luck getting an ref from east tyrone who was giving them the 50/50s calls. Have to say the lafferty is a class act as hard to handle as any forward and the division but urney would struggle bigtime without him as their other forwards arn't great. To note the new trainer paul feeney has left us after a couple of months, so its going take a big response from the players to get themselves out of relegation trouble. Massive game with stewartstown at weekend, will not be a bit easy no matter what their scoreline at the weekend suggests.

Paul Feeney has left? What happened there, he seemed to be doing ok with you. Who is taking you now?

in reply to interman!!

i for one was at the same game as an umpire an thought the ref was very good in his decicions, yes the rock had 2 men sent off, one for striking an the other for stamping on johnny laffertys head whilst he was on the ground... there is no denying the fact!!! urney didn't get all the 50/50 calls as you said, i believe they were evenly balanced out for the both sides.. its was also a good entertaining match which urney came out victorious. credit must be given to the rock i hope as yourselves that we can win our remaining games an stay up in div 2.

Didn't get to the game BobbyB, due to chronic back pain and I'll miss this weekend's game against Augher.

However I heard that it was very one-sided, as the scoreline would suggest.

Greencastle started the game very well.
Think a 7 point lead to no score by 15 mins?
Derrylaughan had no answer, but managed a few scores before the half.
Halftime 0-10 to 0-4.
Started the second in similar fashion.
Were too strong in every department especially the defence.
Played without Hagan who got a dead leg in reserve championship.
Must have been a good one to keep him from playing.
Overall finished game putting on 4 subs, B Teague at midfield scored an unusual quaility goal.
Coming good at the right time.

387329 Gortin v Kileshil
Eskra v stewartstown
Greencastle v Moortown
Cookstown v Derrylaughen

The games probably won't be played until sfter brian take Sam through the Plum!

My predictions would be Killeeshil, eskra, greencastle and Cookstown to progress. Hope that greencastle can win the championship but think Cookstown might have different ideas.

Edendork v Gortin -Edendork(Gortin not pulling well within the squad lately)
Killyman v Cookstown - Cookstown(unfortunately)
Stewartstown v Rock - Draw(toss of a coin)
Augher v Greencastle - Greencastle(seem to be in better form at the minute)

Strabane v pomeroy - draw - pomeroy hitn betr form bt home side won't be beaten easily
Clan na gael v moortown - moortown - moortown will take this but not by much
derrylaughen v killeshil - derrylaughen - They will look to get back on track after defeat to greencastle at weekend
Edendork v gortin - gortin - Gortin are in better form at the minute
killyman v cookstown - cookstown - Can't see kilyman throwing up a shock result
Stewartstown v rock - draw - Rock in better form but stewartstwn will need to salvage at least a point at hme if they have any chance of staying up
Augher v Greencastle - Greencastle - Looking like league winners and will need to keep their momentum
Urney v Eskra - Draw - both teams hitting better form, and both will be going all out for the win, too tight to call
