The Bridge will be there or there about at the end of the intermediate championship. I still tink robbie kenny has to be a bit more inspirational.... he didnt touch the ball apart form the 3 goals he got. Healy and Gavin to go to midfield... and id put mitchel full back.... itd be a very strong outfit then!

All this talk about the bridge is comical. they played 2 teams that have no midfield and only 1 forward each gory and devine. what happens when they come up against a full outfit

The Tang St Marys was an excellent game of football for the neutral. Tang won by a point in the end but was a close affair right through.

Dablackspot: intermediate championship tables would look as follows: played pts played pts Finea 3 6 Tang 3 6 Tubberclair 3 6 Bal 3 4 Ballinagore 3 3 Bridge 3 4 Shandona 3 2 Kilbeggan 3 4 Ballymore 3 1 Moate 3 0 Rosemount 3 0 Miltown 3 0 Trooper: Impressive predictions for the championship games at the weekend; would love to know what your predictions and anybody else's are for the quarter finals, semis, final and outright winner of the intermediate championship. Mine are as follows: Finea to top the group on 10 pts, Tubberclair in 2nd on 8 pts and finally Ballinagore (maybe) in 3rd. Bal to top the group on 8 pts, Tang in 2nd and Kilbeggan in third. Neighbours Tubberclair and Tang to win their respective quarter finals. Bal to beat Tubberclair in a semi final and Finea to beat Tang in the other semi. Repeat of last year's semi final for this year's intermediate final, but to have Finea coming out on top this year. I think this is the year for Finea to "either **** or get of the pot" and with 4 additional players from last year's outfit and Danny McDermott and Shane Egan returning from their travels in the coming weeks, I just think this could be their year and you could see them replacing their underage team mates (Bunbrosna) in the top flight next year. I appreciate some readers would fancy Tubberclair to at least make a final, but I think the final group game between Tubberclair and Finea could have a big impact on the championship, with the winners most probably going into a semi and the loosers having to play a quarter final and maybe end up on the harder side of the semi final draw, with maybe meeting Bal in a semi final.

Results and tables for all competitions are at http://westmeathgaa.ie/

Inter is wide open every year only Rosemount Ballymore Moate and milltownpass are out of it.

16th man surely a St Marys win over Moate would see them into 1/4 final or can you not see them don this

Dablackspot/16thman... watched most of the bridge/tang game. excellent game for the neutral (was there mainly for 2nd game). We (moate) are out. Cant see the bridge not qualifying the way the played. should have won. sloppy goal at the end. actually, fair result would prb have been a draw... as both teams excellent std. (2 tough games to go for the bridge though. we beat them in the lge by a cpl of pts this yr. going to be hard for us to lift it now.)

No6 for tang and no14 for st marys were best men on the field (??)... both excellent! Mitchell's free taking a v. high std and conway still such a treat around the goal (high ball).

One of the best games i've watched as a neutral for a while. (i think both will get to semi's... after that in inter, who knows?)

DABLACKSPOT: Just feel that Kilbeggan has the easier of the two run in's, with Miltownpass (a cert to win) and Tang (a possible win, considering Kilbeggan already beat Bal). While the Bridge has Moate (should beat them, but by no means a cert, especially with Healy gone travelling again) and Bal in their last game (fancy Bal for that one). It's may even come down to scoring difference as they both are likely to finish on 6 points. I still fancy Kilbeggan to sneak a 1/4 final spot.

"The Winner" - I think Balinacarrigy v Tang could be the pick of the fixtures this weekend (Tubberclair v Ballinagore could end up one sided i.e. good forward line against a very average defense).

Anyhow my predictions for the weekend are as follows:

Tubberclair to beat Ballinagore (6 to 7 points)
Shandonagh to beat Rosemount (1 point) This one could be very close.
Finea to beat Ballymore (2/3 points) Once again, this could be a very tight one, more so than the table would indicate. Always a dog fight between these two teams and Finea are missing a couple players due to holidays and injury.

Kilbeggan to beat Miltownpass (5 to 6 points)
The Bridge to beat Moate (3 to 4 points)
Ballincarrigy to beat Tang (2 to 3 points) This should be a right good game, once Tang can prevent Bal scoring soft goals.

Come Monday evening, I beleive Tubberclair and Finea will be the only two unbeaten teams in the intermediate championship.
