I thought i might add this to give the rest of us something to argue about. Hard to call this year, tang could be dark horses with shandonagh looking strong now. i supposes its a lottery really. any thoughts on it?

the most compeditive grade in the county. at least half the times, on a good day, could challange for the title. i wont even try to predict because every year i am wrong so i dont want to jinx any team! but i will anyway........ i think Bal or Shandonagh will be very hard handled come the fine weather. i believe both are training extremely hard.

Very hard to say who'll win it. Bgore have the best forwards in it and i think that might just sway it for them. Dark horse Rosemount????

first round games next weekend, heres my predictions....
moate v ballinacarrigy - bal by a couple of points
kilbeggan v marys - hard one to call so il go for a draw here
tang v milltownpass - tang by 4 or 5
rosemount v tubberclair - this one will be a lot closer than most think but tclair to shade it
cfcw v ballinagore - another close call, draw
shandonagh v ballymore - shandonagh by 2 or 3.

as we all know this comp is so difficult to predict so it wouldnt surprise me if all of these were wrong.
any thoughts????

listen lads it is as simple as this.......

ballymore to beat shan by 4 points.they beat them in the league only less than 4 weeks. key points....duffy v martin
bal to beat moate....moate have no dept in the squad and lack the talent of bal.bal by 8. forwards start well.
killbegan to ease past although they are both bad squads them and marys. kill by 3. marys to score early to have a chance
tang to beat miltownpass by 10points.tang have the best forwards in intermediate. niall bannon on form
tubberclaire to ease past rosemount by atleast 5 points. wilson fit
balinagore to draw with cfcw. eoin miller

Moate Vs Ball. I'll go for Ball if they have the appetite after last year.
Kilbeggan Vs Marys. I'll go for the Marys, Marys beat Kilbeggan in the league, both sides have a lot of young players.
Tang Vs Milltownpass. I'll go Tang. Depends which Milltownpass turn up.
Rosemount V Tubberclair. I'll go tubberclair but just, Rosemount will cause a few shocks this year.
CFCW V Bgore. Bgore forwards should have enough to pip finea.
Shan V Bmore. Shan normally start of well and i expect them to do it again.

I think all the games will be close. Very open competition.

results from last nite...
bal 1-13 moate 2-6
marys 1-7 kilbeggan 0-8.
no surprise bal beating moate but would have thought kilbeggan could get the better of st. marys, both ageing teams it seems and neither really going to challenge for the championship.
any reports from the games.....

St. Marys are no longer an ageing side. They had a lot of young players playing yesterday including 3 minors---- Carey, Gorman and Kinsella. All 3 played well with Carey being the best man on de pitch! Chances for survival look very good!!

ST Marys won 1-8 to 0-8,were by far the better team Eoin Gorman,Paul Carey county minors both had good games.David Mitchell had to off after only 4mins,Damien Gavin took the midfield by the scruff of the neck and dominated.Good win seen as most here had us to go straight back down,St Marys will ruffle a few more feathers before the season over.

ST Marys won 1-8 to 0-8 and were well worth the win.Damien Gavin ran the show from midfield after David Mitchell went off after 5mins injured.Eoin Gorman and Paul Carey county minors will add to team from last year.Great start from the Bridge and now doubt they will cause another surprise or two this season,as many on this forum have them tipped to go back down.
