John Boss, before Boylan took over Meath they were well down there with the likes of Kildare, laois ect. He made a team out of them.

Find it strange that nobody has mentioned Billy Morgan. Not saying he was the very best but he achieved more than a lot of managers mentioned here. 9 Munster titles in 16 attempts means he outgunned Kerry in those years, no mean feat. 5 All-Ireland final appearances, 2 wins. Plus brought Nemo to 3 All-Ireland finals in a row, winning on the 3rd attempt.

Andy Cap,

Billy Morgan was definitely a brilliant manager also. A thorn in our side with the exceptoin of his most recent term. We loved to hate him. He was something else altogether. Come Munster Final day he used to rise us in the Kerry crowd bigtime. He would never get off the pitch, was always running on giving advice, pretending to give medical attention, aggrevating the Kerry players and being a general nuiscance. He was a fantastic Character and a passionate manager. There used to be some craic watching to sideline carryon between himself and Paudie and Micko.

Peter McDermott, Barney Carr, Jimmy Ward (never lost a game managing Antrim) and the one and only Brian McEniff who was involved in ALL of Donegal's Ulster wins and their all Ireland. Not to mention 176 Railway Cup wins with Ulster.

real louth fan you cant argue that it was a much more copetitive ennvirement the 70s and 80s were just as competetive realitive to the day in question it may seem more competitive now because players are so fit but is it really ?
