Des Cahill is a great choice, hugely knowledgeable about the players and the GAA as a whole. bad.monkey (USA) - Posts: 4653 - 09/04/2009 10:05:14 252844 Link 0 |

Jonathan Ross should have got it. It would have been good craic with him instigating the whole Kewwy and Tywone debate. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9874 - 09/04/2009 10:35:23 252872 Link 0 |
I would have voted for Joan Cantwell much more appealing to the Eye. williewentwell (Tyrone) - Posts: 1712 - 09/04/2009 11:33:29 252932 Link 0 |
I welcome Des Cahill's appointment. Born Dublin, involved with the Cuala club for years. Father was Bannerman, wife from Donegal. Worked for the Kerryman for a number of years and played junior football with Dr.Crokes. Also worked for a while with the Carlow Nationalist. So knows his GAA and has connections with many counties.Best of luck Des. Real Kerry Fan (None) - Posts: 2957 - 09/04/2009 11:39:39 252939 Link 0 |

I have nothing against Des Cahill and i like him on the radio show but jesus could R.T.E. not give the job to someone NEW ? Surely there is some new person in the organisation capable of presenting this show. R.T.E. seems to be full of a heirarchy of old fogies who replece another old fogie when he moves on i.e. Gay Byrne and Pat Kenny. Time for some dynamic new blood !! Someone who is good at asking the hard questions and irking the participants !! Cavan_Slasher (Cavan) - Posts: 10253 - 13/04/2009 11:28:43 255652 Link 0 |
