Has Man Utd's season imploded??

Has recent results, performances and sendings off signalled an end to utds possible quadruple?? What has went wrong? Can Fergie pull it out of the fire once again?

Lets hope so, although that was a great draw for them in the Champions league... it just means that Liverpool have to play a further two big games against Chelsea..

I doubt it has imploded,of course they're not going to have a smooth run of things in all competitions!!I think they will beat Portsmouth which is their game in hand and hopefull thy will go on and win the Champs League.I think Barca are the only team good enough to beat United in Europe,I know Liverpool and Fulham prove me wrong!

Chelsea are the only real threat in ruining United's FA Cup dreams, still think United will win it though

Man United will finish easily in the top four which qualifies a team for the big one, the Champions league.

Being in the top four is a good season, it doesn't matter who actually wins the league.

However the richest/best resourced/biggest squad team usually wins the league which is why United have won 68% of them.

In the big one, well the big four are in the other half of the draw from United so they have a chance.

Victory against Aston Villa will be vital. It won't be easy with no Vidic,Rooney or Scholes. I still think Liverpool lack quality up front. If Gerrard or Torres were to get injured or suspended it would be game over for them.

Well I hope it has, but I feel Utd will still be Champions come the end of the season. Still great to see the pool give them a hiding in Old Trafford.

United may not be the best TEAM in England, 11 players, but have the biggest squad. Last year Man City beat them twice, but City have no chance of maintaining that for 38 games.

So I reckoned Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayern, Barcelona and a full Arsenal side could maybe beat them in Europe over two legs, but they have now avoided playing the top four of those teams over two legs.

United have only won one game this year against the alleged "big four" and that was against a demoralised Chelsea.

Can't see United not winning the League. They may lose 2 more games in the run in but Liverpool and Chelsea will drop points as well. Cup Football is different in FA Cup anyone can win in a straight one to one. In Champions League look to have the softest tie in quarters, after that who knows, personally I hope Barca win it.

Enjoying them lemons patrique? I take it from next season, your beloved city will win 100% of everything then?

Patrique ur way off the mark. Utd are top of the league hence they are the best team in the league. They also have the best defence, best attack and a midfield as good as any other... Im not even a utd fan but I can easily admit this... What exactly are you basing ur argument on? They will win at least 3 of the 4 cups this year

City winning somethiong, don't make me laugh, that would ruin everything.

Sour grapes by the way doesn't come into it. It is a basic fact in the premiership.

Now in a competitive league like Scotland, no one team wins 68% of the titles, only in the premiership. Aston Villa are as agood ateam as most this year, but no big squad or resources. Liverpool have 62 professionals, Bolton have 27, now if that is not inequality, what is?

If United were the best 11 they would be beating Liverpool and Arsenal and Chelsea. This year they managed one victory against a demoralised Chelsea. And their overall record against Chelsea is not good. I reckon Chelsea and Liverpool would beat them at present over two legs in Europe, and Arsenal might if they get that far and get a first 11 on the field.

As for it doesn't matter who actually wins this qualifying tournament, take a look at the South American world cup qualifying tournament. Paraguay lead by six points, Brazil and Argentina are 3rd and 4th. You only need to be in the top 4.

Anyone want to back Paraguay for the World Cup proper?

patrique if Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are the best in the league then they should be winning the league, winning a one off game isnt the measure of a team... Circumstances at that time can have an affect on the result, but the true best team are the ones who win the league outright... After all it s a LEAGUE competition...

How about the champions league final last year? Didnt see chelsea winning that one...

It was a draw. Penalties do not prove who is a better team and it was again a demoralised Chelsea under Avram Grant.

Kilanerinfooty, who are the champions league holders? Chelsea couldnt have been that demoralized, they made it to the final after all...
Its ridiculous to say that utd are not the best team because they didnt beat the teams around them, they are the holders and they are top again, hence they are the best... Im not even a utd fan but I can admit their superiority...

Firstly it was a 1-1 draw, and they hit the post twice so were a trifle unlucky.

Secondly, the whole point I am making is you do not have to expend energy by winning the league, you only need to be in the top four. Hence my example of Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil.

Or look at 2007. Milan destroy United and Fergie says "Milan were not distracted by the league". Of course they were not, they were secure in THIRD place so could take it easy and concentrate on Europe. United were certain of being in the top four.

Alas however England is an island with an island mentality and think winning the English league is the greatest achievement in world football.

No patrique it wasnt a draw, utd won on penalties, thats why they are the holders...

The english league is the best domestic league going so why shouldnt they want to win it? Liverpool have won the CL but want the league, could you explain that? And please spare the island mentality bit, their owners are from the US, their manager from spain and all but two of their starters are not english... Same with chelsea and arsenal
