well mickeyfinn there's no doubting where your from..i was actually on the bank too on sunday and i can tell you this if anything horeswood's management are too quiet.. some of the decisions the referee gave on sunday were atrocious, how he could award guss a penalty for what was at most a 14yd free still begers belief ,also numerous ocassions in the 2nd half horeswood forwards were swung around by neck or jersey and got no frees, and as far a guss being the better team this is far from true if it wasn't for a goal which went in of ken cahills knee and the referee trying to make a game of things in the 2nd half guss wouldn't have been near horeswood, and i'd also like to point out a moment near the end of the game,on the bank side, where pj banville went to take quick line ball but was struck by a guss sub,did you see that i wonder?? and i'm sure if the so called abuse from the horeswood management or line had have been as bad as you say the referee would have surely steped in,this is laughable really, the worse case of sour grapes i've ever heard..;)

have to agree with most mickey finn says, young kehoe had a good game on howlin but howlin has been dogged with injury over last few years, dis year been no different from what i heard, flynn totally ran d show serious engine sum of his shootin let him down as well as cullen who kicked sum really bad wides by his standard he didint look like a man who was carryin much of an injury, clongeen really need liam murphy back to have a chance cause colfer is carryin d whole team at d moment, collie byrne was kept very quiet by david bradley, and i cant c why adamstown keep playin eric at centre forward he aint goin to kick points for them so why not put him out in his natural position,he wud of been alot tougher apponent for colfer, heard stars have few players back like deegan n mahon n a new lad from shamrocks called carty might go close dis year especially if hudson is goin well, bannow had a good win again martins and martins nearly bet horeswood at 1st round stage last year, shels big win over st annes too and i reckon will come out of there group handy enough, there are talks of next round of club been on weekend of 21st of june so fingers crossed they will have it run off earlier dan last year,

blatant penalty inside d square(u wear glasses by ne chance), yes i did c d incident wit d sub, dunno who done wat but i did c banville throw d ball at d player. regards d abuse, it was said by numerous folk near me, d 1 guy in particular was a large man wit glasses, he was so bad larry o brien had 2 giv him a shot nd tell him 2 shut up, tho he wasnt d only 1, he was d worst. u obviously r from d horeswood/new ross area. i am actually 4m clongeen, but i wud hav rathered a gusseerane alrite. not sour wat so ever, im sure gusserane will use d game nd d abuse in particular 2 der advantage.

well what a weekend. Kilanerin only drew against a poor starlights team, shouldnt make much o a diffrence though. fro what i heard and the games i saw, shels and horeswood seem the two biggest dangers. shels were comprehensive albeit against an average st annes minus red and rory. Horeswood looked very impressive against gusserane and i heard they were missing 5 including captain darren o reiley, paddy murphy and young declan murphy. Banville is back on form and tore the defense apart and look the team to beat this year. as for waht som1 was sayin about them being past it, take away leigh o brien the rest of the team are under 30, 3 young forwards banville, barry hearn, and declan murphy to return can cause alot of problems on dry ground not to mention deeley and david shannon. Gusserane were poor although had a good second half but will struggle without cullen wen he gets his op. Clongeen were unconvincing and adamstown looked promising, tough group. as for the rest, duffry lucky to beat fethard, ballyhogue going well, a team to cause an upset r 2 mayb. castletown got by taghmon narrowly and its hard to know what to make of it. the next round will tell alot.
My prediction: Winner horeswood
runner up kilanerin

Relegated Sarsfields.

What do ye think after the first round??

only seen the shels game over the opening weekend.. they won comfortably enough without playing really well. annes were poor and red barry came on at corner forward for last 15mins but was givin little supply to make an impact.. steven banvile gave a great display in the middle of the field and DOC didnt want to know about it.. banvile brushed him aside like a midget time and time again.. annes were missing stafford and maybe a couple of others, the mcgovern brothers i think.. but the shels too were missing david walsh, clive lawler, ibar murphy, gareth dunne and eoin doyle.. i think 3 for the shels made their debut in andrea o brien, brian doyle and james gordon, the last two current minors and all played very well... only read reports on the other matches but shels should be in the shake up if getting all players back fit..

yeah the game against the shels was poor, were missing red barry, rory stafford is in america, the mcgoverns, niall doyle and mossy byrne are in australia, fran simpson retired, we had 5 lads who made their senior debut

Well that explains the result to a nearly new senior team.
I suppose on average 1 maybe 2 lads make their debut every year.

mickeyfinn, you are without doubt from gusserane, its sad that u have to stoop this low by trying to claim these "insults" were said on the sideline. very sour grapes just admit horeswood were far better on the day and deserved to win.

i agree donfinito, no1 would stick up for another club like that unless they were from that club, jelousy comes to mind. like liverpool fans at the start of the season, all talk. im not sure if this is true or not but i heard when gusserane beat horeswood in 06 the management came into the horeswood dressing room and said " no shame in been beaten by the future county champions". correct me if im wrong but did horeswood not win the co title in 06??

I wonder is mickyfinn, our old friend Jim...........................

I heard there was a bit of mouthing on the pitch in the Gusserane/Horeswood game, done mainly by one player, but I heard nothing about the line. There was a reaction from the Horeswood side when Banville got kick/tripped by one of the Gusserane subs, but that was midway through the second half, and I think the ref took no action against the player on the line.
I thought that penalty was very soft.
I was talking to a couple of the gusserane players after the game and they didn't seem to show any sign of bitterness at all. Horeswood were impressive considering they were missing Darren O'Rielly, Paddy Murphy, Declan Murphy, Johnny Keating and Hocker Hearne who all would of played last year.

no i havent gone underground sir. it was a bank holiday weekend nd i had btr tings 2 b doing dan sitting in front of a computer. im not going 2 get into n arguement bout wer im 4m, i dont care wer u tink im 4m, i was simply posting a msg about was i tot was a disgrace at a gaa match. dis is a gaa site wer ppl express der views. some ppl wer not at d game nd i simply informed d public about a gr8 game dat was unfortunately ruined in some sense by d antics of some ppl on d horeswood line. yes i wud b much more a gusserane fan dan a horeswood fan, il admit dat. nd probably now even more so after seeing nd hearing wat went on at d match. oh nd i mus say well done 2 d gusserane juniors on winning der 1st round championship match yesterday, unfortunately clongeen didnt do so well against bannow..........;-)

what was a disgrace in new ross last sunday week was the clongeen crowd booing philip doyle as he went to take an important free near the end of the game, its def the first time i've heard booing at a senior club game in the county, did you hear that mickeyfinn or were you only in for the gusserane game?? let us know your thoughts on that when yer not too busy..;)

robinbanks, its not the first time there was booing at a wexford club game. I left wexford park in a rage 2 years ago when i heard the behaviour of the clongeen "fans" during their match with kilanerin. They werent as bad in the final, but they were wining that game easily.
