In reply to Bigjan. From what I seen of Convoy and Red Hughs I would say Convoy are the better footballing team, I expect Convoy to be too good. A lot will depend on the man in the middle. You ommitted Gaels and Muff. Gaels are plugging away but Muff have shown signs of slipping. This could be a close one with Gaels adging it by a pt

If game is at convoy, i'll go for a home win... As a previous post states Gaels are entertaining Muff. Will be another intersting game, depending on which Muff side turn up... Gaels are plugging away ( as earlier stated in another comment ),... so i'll go for another Home win ( although a tight one !)

No John Grace from what i've seen Div.1 are too busy keeping up with their hectic social lives. Unless by the pitch you mean a bar or nightclub?

Rumour has it the convoy is being tagged as a dirty team after there antics against redhughs on saturday e.g, kicking players when there down and kneeing players on the head, very disgracful to say the least....

If it's only a rumour john_wayne1, then you shouldn't really be making a judgement on it. You shouldn't really be calling something "very disgraceful" if as you say yourself, "rumour has it ..."

Rumours are the scourge of our society!

Dont think Convoy are a dirty team. From what i heard they have a lot of young players this year who got dragged into a scrappy game that suited a more experienced red hughs side.

Redhughs were not an experienced side they are missing alot yet thru injury and the reserve players came in did a great job an alot of players playing out of positon. And yes john whane the rumour is true the redhughs goal keeper went down for a ball and convoy players went around him and kicked him and knee'd in head, disgracful is'n the word that just was'n the only incident.

seems like all the dirty teams are playing red hughs. a few weeks ago it was lkgaels with 2 dismisals now its convoy. maybe its red hughes that need to take a look at themselves.

In fairness Convoy are no longer a dirty team. They were scrappy years gone by. But on Saturday there football did the talking. The 2 incidents are unsavoury and are related to 2 individual who do not respect the opponent. Not a team thing. 2 players who are not disciplined. One got the line for a headbutt and im sure his suspension will make him a better player. the other boy got away with it and prob wont learn alot from it.

But in general it was a hard fought good game.

I think thats an honest assessment.

RED HUGHS C.L.G. AS A CLUB HAVE NO COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE GAME ON SATURDAY. THE GAME WAS HARD FOUGHT AND ENTERTAINING WITH CREDIT GOING TO BOTH SIDES. BEAR IN MIND THE COMMENTS POSTED ON HERE ARE NOT NECCESSERAILY THE VIEWS OF THE CLUBS MEMBERS OR PLAYERS. CREDIT TO BOTH TEAMS FOR MAKING A VERY ENTERTAINING GAME WITH EQUALLY INEXPERIENCED TEAMS.

ALSO THANKS TO CONVOY FOR SWITCHING THE GAME TO THEIR VENUE AT SUCH SHORT NOTICE. FANTASTIC PITCH AND FACILITIES YOUS HAVE GOT DOWN THERE.

What else is to be expected from 2 non footballing sides in a local derby!!!

Lifford are now going from strength to strength, undefeated and top of the league, reserves are flying with a few games in hand and we have now entered a 3rd team in Div5!!! We are finally reaching our potential

All very true Lifford Abu and congratulations on your success. But to be fair use are in a bit of false position. What good teams have use played yet. The only notable victory use had was a 10 point victory over Muff, who had alot of players missing. Use only beat a very poor N.Ultan team by a point at the weekend and use drew with Newton at home. When use beat the likes of Milford,Downings and Moville, the three serious teams in this division, you'll have a good foot to stand on.

To be fair Player24 it was a Naomh ultan team missing seven regulars and with about 7 or eight minors and 21s once the injuries clear up and the young players get a bit more experienced the results will pick up for them. On the game itself Naomh Ultan lead the whole game up until the last two mins until Lifford got a rather fortuitous goal and from there they managed to hang on for the one point win. Very encouraging performance though from a very young Dunkineely side.

Lifford will be hard to beat now this year. The tails are up, who's going to stop them?? there was so much talk about this so called great redhughs team to over come them at the start of the year an i dont think any of the other teams will be good enough for lifford.

lifford really know how to bum themselves up thats for sure. some good results. this will only encourage other teams even more to knock them off their high horse. gaels in the championship, they probably think they are in the semi's already though a very young and increasinly hungry gaels side should put up a brave fight.

Good point St-eunan,.... Championship is a different story altogether!... particularly when Gaels have only the championship to play for now.... Lifford are playing some good football though, and have ground out some good results.... but season has only just begun,.... so its a bit early to start bragging!
