Division 4 2009

can anyone please tell me why muff put their reserve team into division 5, instead of the division 4 reserve league? fair play to newton as well getting two teams out this year, normally they struggle to field one team when you travel down to them so they must be doing something right again!

Found that a bit starnge as well, i suppose playing in division 5 is better than having no team at all. Funny that Milford have no reserve team this year either. Alot of people tipping them for promotion but I think this decision could come back to haunt them.

thats true better that boys are getting football and not getting hammered wk in, wk out, but would it not be better to try and play in a higher divison, i think that all teams that enter a divison should have a reserve team, unless its impossible to field due to numbers, it leaves the reserve league up in the air, going 2 wks maybe without having a league game, it makes the league not competive, even thou its div 4 res, some res players train as hard as any other player, lol, some!!

the 3rd team in eunans is just for a few vetren players to enjoy the twilight of there playing careers and to blood young players coming up the ranks
Not expected to win everything
thats the senior teams job

its gotten very quiet in here all of a sudden. Where are those boys from mighty red huges who bigging themselves up for the past few month's. Saying that its only the 2nd game in and its a long season. Good win for Convoy at the weekend. Milford looking strong with two solid victories, impressive scoring against letterkenny gaels who a lot of people were talking up last week.

Well player24 I decided to limit my postings on here because no matter what is said, someone is going to try and twist it. If i told you the fact that Red Hughs were missing 10 out of their realistic first 15 then i would be accused of crying and making excuses. I cannot recall anyone from the 'red huges' as you call them saying they were going to walk the league just people stating that they expected RH to be in contention as everyone else was writing them off.

PS - Just because someone posting on here appears to be from a club doesnt necceseraily mean they are. Remember Norman last year pretending to be from red hughs, robert emmets and lifford doing damage to all the clubs. Keep it in mind.

i agree player24 milford do appear to be strong, however they have not won their 1st 2 games, they drew with muff in the opening game and beat lk gaels easily in the second. Moville appear stronger though. two good victories.

Anyone any views on milford's and moville's squads and panels????

lifford are going well so far in the first 2 games, they playing newtown next away should be 3 wins in a row, unless newtown pull of a surpise!!!!

I was at the lifford V red hughs game and the football wasnt the main priority from red hughs point of view...lifford played a good game with a strong defence line. red hughs would need to go back to the drawing board as far as tactics are concerned...their game is very predictable and boring!

Thats true nonstopper and are very limited in the foeward line aswel no scoing forwards at all, and they could go from bad to worse with setanta and redhughs playing on same days from now on so there gona be missing alot of players..

Another good result for newton last weekend. Definately a few teams performing better this year. Gaels were unlucky against Red Hughs as well, nearly pulled of a great result with 13 players.... Milford looking strong this season, as are Moville...

Bigjan:

Why did the Gaels only have 13 players?

2 sent off. one of them deserves a year out..puching a player and then punching another as he walked off..

and what was the other sent off for?? obviously not much if you didn't mention it. I believe it was more to do with the refs lack of control of the game. Red hughs won't win many this games this year if they can barely beat lk gaels with 13 players on the field

That match was more a game of rugby than anything else that player does deserve a year away from it after that

Gaelic is a physical game and a tough game. Theres nothing tough and physical about punching someone in the face! Cop yourself on!

For once I agree with Red Hughs. When Lifford played Letterkenny Gaels last year they were up to the same carry on. At the time everybody said Lifford are at it again, but now Gaels are starting to show their true colours.
