398913 Championship weekend is upon us again!Any predictions for the Milford v Downings game?Big rivalry there, could be a good clash!!

Could see Milford taking this - Downings are on a serious charge and must have 7/8 wins on the trot. I can see Milford being up for this and taking big pride in putting a halt to the gallop. Milford are in a similar league position to Downings and are having a good year but even in other years where they were behind downings in the table they always manage to lift themselves

Downings should be too strong if they have a full select. Young Eric Roberts is under-rated and i believe he is better than David Curley.

Interesting to see how much Colin Gallagher scores if he has to mark someone of the calibre of Chris Bradley. Will be a very interesting tussle.

you got it right an ruanua I see on the donegal website they won by 7 pts quite a thrasing for downings as I thought it would be them and moville in the final it could be a junior and intermediate double for the north west

Great result for the Milford boys. Was at the match, Bradley, O'Hagan and Chippy were just to good for the Rossguill boys. Hope yous go all the way. Well deserved for Kevin and Johnny. Great back up coming along with a very good minor team. Looking good for Milford. Good luck in the final

Wouldn't say the forwards were too good for Downings. Must say the refereeing was poor. Ref booked one player twice and didn't send him off. On a positive note, Milford played well in patches, but it was by no means a good performance, and the boys had to rely on two luck goals. There will two more battles to come, but this will give Milford a real boost.

If Milford had a decent midfield they would be serious contenders for the intermediate Championship. Bradley, Chippy and the 2 curleys are excellent forwards, with a good minor team coming through too. Dowmings not doing enough work at underage. They're going to face more years in the doldrums i'm afraid, even if they do get promoted this year.

I went to both Junior A semi finals over the weekend and thought both finalists were deseved winners. Also thought €8 to get in was was a bit steep and wondered why there was only oen official linesman and no umpire provided for the second semi final.

RF - Downings will get promoted this year and as for their underage they have underage talent coming through - Shay Coyle, Darren Green and Eric Roberts are among their better players and are all in their teens.

Hungrybob i think the point Rf is trying to make is that all these players while still teenagers are out of minor football now and while younger players wont come into the senior team till around 18 the work has to begin to make them better footballers from u8 up. And as far as i am aware downings havent had much success with the younger teams recently

RE: Downings success at underage, hey won minor double a B level two years ago and ave some very good players but I would have to put question mark over their commitment.... Undoubtedly talented but that isn't enough and they seem to think that because they won at minor level that they have the right to win matches. Downings are however going to be hard to stop this year, but their best player in my view, is still shane mcclafferty.

Ballboy i agree with you about that minor team when them 3 players were heavily involved in their success but by younger teams i meant u12 14s etc and its along time since they had success at that level if i am correct. Should have been clearer about that

can someone please fill me in? i heard letterkeny gaels were misbehaving against milford knowing they have a final in the coming weeks. any truth in that?

re- topdog.. u r right 2 say that they would'nt of had much success in recent years at the u.12,u14 level. this year they would have a fairly good crop of players at u.14 + they won the shield in that competition, ok its nothing great but with a panel of 14 players all year + 4 a group of players that never won anything before its a step in the rite direction. i feel in 2 years time at u.16 level they will b in contention for more honours.

of all the teams in the north west region downings will b the 1 that will struggle most at underage in the next few years due to small numbers + lack of boys, but their is'nt much we can do about that except work a bit harder with what we have...

Chris Bradley got his collar bone broke on Tues nite, but I did not have a good view of the incident, bu i heard afterwards that it was a late tackle, but that
the fall to the ground did the damage. Big loss for League run-in.
I was playing and wouldn't have said they were playing dirty, they gave a good first half performance and have some very good players and should be trying to kick on next year.

Things heating up in Div 4, this weekend could tell a few tales!

Why would Gaels want Moville to win champ any more than Milford? Bradley will be a massive loss.

Suprised to see Moville beating Downings! Are they falling apart after Championship exit?

Big win for moville, they are now favourites for the league, with Milford, Downings, Muff and Convoy battling for the play-off spots! Downings are still in a good position, and Moville is a hard place to get a win from. They're def not out of the running for the league.

I see junior final in O'Donnell Park nex Sunday, at 2pm. Who will take it?

Bradley will be a huge loss to Milford in the league run in and championship final. One of, if not the best forward in junior football.

On another note some important games this weekend. I still see Moville and downings finishing 1st and 2nd. Anyone any views on how they would cope in division 3? I personally feel Moville would have a decent chance in div 3, however Downings may struggle to maintain Div 3 status

Well lads see milford put a dent in convoys promotion aspirations today with what seems to be a convincing win. good result for them going into a championship final

And in the other big game this week downings host muff. I predict downings will get back to winning ways with a narrow win against muff and climb back up the table

Any other opinions on this?
