Its a fairly one-sided rivalry to be fair. The Cross B team can usually account for Lahardane easily enough. It was great craic when Keenagh had a team, then all the boundaries were blurred.

im glad youins think this is therapy northpole im only warming it up for later in the year dont want too cry to much as i might get an allstar totally overated will never get another unless he wins sam needs to score off a decent defender in the championship when it matters

reddoctor, how in under God is Paddy Bradley overrated? How many forwards in Ireland can score maybe 6or 7 points ach time they are out? And I know whats coming.... 'Paddy Bradley can't perform against big teams'

Derry v Kerry(final)- 6points
Derry V Donagal-6points
Derry V Tyrone- 7 points
Derry V Kildare- 9 points
Derry V Kerry- 5 points
Derry V Laois 4 points (1-01)
Derry V mayo- 5 points
Derry V Down 5 points (1-02)
Derry V Dublin 7 points
Derry V Mayo- 5 points
Derry V Armagh- 5 points

But I suppose you are right, he is overrated.....

As a Galway man I was talking to a Meath fella last summer and I said that when Galway play Mayo all of Ireland watches. He looked at me smugly and said when Meath play Dublin all of the world watches! And I think he has a point if I'm honest.

A nod to the Derry v Tyrone fixture as well.

There was a very intelligent post made on this earlier in this thread ... :)
"Everyone feels that their own rivalry is the most intense and best. You are never going to get agreement on this so it's a pointless discussion."

How can you objectively judge one rivalry over the other? By the amount of fighting, bad language, players sent off? Every rivalry is important to the people involved and rightly so. The rivalry itself should be enough to satisfy people without having to claim that one rivaly is better than another. Wile E Coyote would laugh at Mayo/Galway and Dublin/Meath and then blow everybody up with an ACME bomb.

niamh half those teams are rubbish. show us some stats on championship and from play against top 4 armagh tyrone dublin and kerry. maybe a bit unfair as paddy probably hasnt played too many games in championship against these four which augments my point unproven and overrated.

Personally, when it comes to Derry playing Tyrone, i really hope that we (Derry) hammer the living daylights out of Tyrone, they may talk about the '13' men, but neglect the diving tactics that got Fergal P sent off, the start of such tactics for Tyrone! I'll never forget the time we thrashed them 2-15 to 2-03 in Clones on that sunkissed day, it was great to see some of their fans almost crying at the severity of it!!

I expect all Tyrone people to have the same attitude when it comes to the derby, and i'm serious when i say that i couldn't care less if Derry didn't win anything again, so long as they knocked Tyrone out of every competition!

Derry Tyrone games are great battles, we have receiced some stuffings from them and vice versa, and i take and give as much banter as possible as thats the nature of the beast, and you'd be surprised at how many of their fans that'll refuse to use the whole 'London' thing in their slagging!

Nothing beats it!

Reddoctor, I didn't mean all of those teams were top class, but the majority of them, Dublin,Kerry,Armagh, yourselves are, and he kicked several points against them all. Also of the 4 teams (Armagh,Tyrone,Dublin,Kerry) Derry beat 3 out of the 4 teams you mentioned the last time we meat them, and 2 of these wins were very convincing, yourselves (the 2006 showdown) and Kerry (nfl)

Bald eagle I wouldn't go that far as I would far rather Derry won something.I just know that the Tyrone boys would have loved to have beaten Derry instead of Armagh in Crokers that day to lift Sam.Myself I wouldn't care who Derry beat to win the all-Ireland.Now that I think about it ........all-Ireland final on a balmy day in Dublin with a final score of Derry 2-11...Tyrone 1-07.It does have a nice ring to it though.I might be coming around to your way of thinking there Mr Eagle.
