i would have thought it would be Kerry V Dublin?????? Sligo People VS Mayo, or indeed anyone who has been to a match with Mayo people will soon start to have a big rivalry against them.

I get the Dublin Meath thing but at the minute i thinks its a non runner because of the trouble last week, i go for:

Football:

Dub v Meath (probably be my favourite)
Armagh v Tyrone
Galway v Mayo
Kerry v Rest of munster (everyone down there loves beating kerry)

Hurling:

Kilkenny v Wexford (went bad recently but will come back i think)
Cork v Tipp (my personal favourite)
Galway v Tipp
Cork v Kilkenny

These are just top selections but i think this is just the tip of the iceberg as there are many small rivalaries just as if not greater than these, such as Offaly vs Laois, Cavan v Monaghan, Antrim v Down dam i love us beating them.

Everyone feels that their own rivalry is the most intense and best. You are never going to get agreement on this so it's a pointless discussion.

leitrim and sligo in hurling or clare and tipp in football- lads ots only a rivalry if your team is involved ie mayo v galway or tyrone v armagh if your team isnt involved you couldnt care less this dublin meath thing has blown out of all proportion rivalry is all in the head and in some cases the fists- thank god mayo and galway have a bit of class and dont lower themselves to the gutter tactics of others

The Kerry Dublin rivalry has now gone in my opinion. Kerry are by far the more superior team. In a different league.
I'd say Armagh and Tyrone.

Urney V Strabane is pretty intense stuff... about 12/15 years ago battles between Red Hughs & Killybegs are fondly remembered... GAA fans came from everywere to watch these games... That was football, played by men...

I think Dublin vs the rest of the country is the biggest rivalry.

See, what I mean. I personally think Derry and Tyrone are more of a rivalry than Armagh and Tyrone. Matches can get pretty vicious.
