Denn have 3 games left ,id say were a good bet (Hull) to avoid the drop.Anybody offering odds.We have Killygarry,Crosserlough & Mullahorn left each needing points to qualify for semis or avoid the drop.

You'd get great odds Denn Man but can't see it. Your relying on 4 other teams not reaching 10 points, 8 for a playoff and thats if Denn win all 3. Cucu's look in trouble with form, can see Lough pulling a great escape and league for lavey could depend alot on how they go in champo

Honest opinion hold onto your money for I feel the passion is not there with Denn like last year and I feel will find it hard to pick up anymore points sorry.

Couple of genuine questions. After this weekends results, it appears Denn are relegated (open to correction on that one). What does this say about the relevance of the league? How can a team that contests two senior championship finals in consecutive years get relegated to Div 2? Hoping for a geniune response from the likes of Dennman here. How is the league viewed in clubs around the county? Do you care about league performance/position? (Apologies if this topic has been discussed previously) Surely playing Div 2 football will hamper Denns chances of making it 3 in a row.

Also, there has been much talk over the last few years about the gulf in class between the Premiership and Championship in England. Does the same apply to us? After witnessing (and being on the receiving end) Kingscourt wipe the floor with all-comers in Div 2 this year, I thought they would have a reasonable pop at the senior championship. But they had no real impact at all.

In Responce sadalin

Yep it appears we ve gone.Do we care id say very much so.Last Sunday week against Mullahorn was a hard fought game & the two draws against ramor & Gowna were equally tough.Crosserlough played very well but everyone can admit Denn were nt at the races.

Div 1 is definately the place to be.If you wana contest Senior Champ. But i hope Denn take Div 2 serious yet blood new players anyone in the county could pick the denn Team at present and im afraid thats bad knews.

Div 2 done kingscourt no harm ok they did nt contest Senior champ but thet ve a medal & a refreshed club.Redhills & Lavey are well fit for Div 1 & the geals at Top of league proves the point best teams are trying hard to win each game.

I think lack of league games during the summer & poor refs have more to add to your argument than the mentality of the Clubs..Denn played 4 games in a month i think it was march/april & we were missing 7 players of the Champ team.In the month of October we had Mullahorn,Crosserlough & killygarry.

But in May/June/Agust/Sept we only played 5-6 games... NOW PLEASE TELL ME WHY ANYBODY WOULD WANT TO PLAY FOOTBALL Please rem these are the months our clubs impose a drinking ban & no holidays.

I think its time the Co Board Outsource any real decisions to Ex players such as Refs & Fixtures...

What Human can sustain fitness levels and interest jan to Nov.Ok you ll always have games but you ll have no standard games......

Im right & anybody begs to differ come ahead.

u hit the nail on the head there denn man..... co board stopping games in mid summer is a joke....it'll probably be december when we get to the league final....playing through the summer dosent seem to harm tyrone.....might help the co prima donnas to be more competitive too...... well at least they might be match fit.

Denn Man

I note your comments and would also like to point that the Cork Senior Football final was played in September, week after the All Ireland Football Final. It would be a help not a hinderence to the County team if games, League and Champtionship, were played during the summer particularly before Ulster Championship.

Agree with comments. I'd also say that playing league matches this time of year is not fair on teams who find themselves in a relegation dog fight. A lot of teams would treat last few league matches like dead rubber, which you can't blame, but it sometimes leaves teams needing the points with an easier run in. ie. Ballinagh v killygarry yesterday... County board should get all league rounds out of the way by mid june, play champo and run of the league semis and final last wk's October.

I predict the weather will come to Belturbet aid and it will be called off allowing them another week to recover from Jayo's wedding!
