8 WEEKS and a 2000 yoyo fine its a disgrace,4 weeks would have been suffice and as for the fine was it to cover the hearing committees traveling expenses? Jack O'Conner should have been fined for His actions but that will never happen more than likely get a commendation award.

I personally don't agree with pushing the ban up to 8 weeks. Does it mean he'll miss any further games?

Are you talking about the River Bann and all the great fishing available, Clinton?

Some people from Tyrone make me sick,it wasnt to ago long yous were in Croke park supporting Ryan Mc menamin in the all ireland final and now all that seems to be forgot about. Some people are so fickle!I hear he does a lot for his club not many people would be bothered. He is a great player and a great fella off the pitch. He is very passionate about his football and yes he got caught up in all that during the Kerry game, but come on it wasnt that big of deal.8 weeks is a joke!Any team would be luckey to have a player like ryan on their team,he is a leader and everyone looks up to him!

I think that judice is done. Accept the suspension and get on with life not appealing the GAAs authority. Perhaps this will act as a deterant to others going down the appeals route

Why did Kerry get off scott free? That is what is annoying many people. McMenamin deserved a ban but maybe 4 weeks, the entire issue was pushed by the Southern media with their own anti-Ulster and Tyrone agenda. They pushed for playing rule changes to hamper Tyrone; they got it. They pushed for Tyrone & McMenamin to be made an example of ; they got it. They spoke of pure white 'innocent' and 'provoked' Kerry in Omagh; Kerry got off. Don't insult me by saying there is NO agenda in Southern GAA circles and the partitionist media against Ulster. We can currently see it all round us.

It was evident on TV that Tyrone orchastrated the trouble. The Kerry boys were provoked both physically and verbally. They restrained themselves and have always been great ambassadors for the GAA. They never complain but do their talking on the field.

Reply to the sadly deluded Ultserman. I don't think it is possible to insult any intelligence that on the evidence of your prognostications is just not there. You display a remarkable lack of intelligence with your analysis. Meanwhile, how about some salt and vinegar with those chips?

Take your punishment. The time to answer the critics is on the pitch and not in the boardroom or another forum.

I can just picture you now in your Kingdom jersey, shorts and socks, with the green and yellow flag in the background and the Sam '04, '06, '07 dvds on the shelf sitting in your lovely little house in the middle of Carlow or Mayo or Wicklow moaning and crying about poor wee innocent Gooch, Star and the Ó Sé's and those awful, awful Ulstermen

Re: Jack L
'I think that if the County board had any decency they would let the suspension stand. It is time to have some respect for Discipline. If you do the crime do the time. The boy done wrong so he should do the time. It shows a lack of respect for the authorities when penalties are appealed. The GAA ruled on the situation and passed the penalty which was eemed to fit the crime. When the kid comes back he will think twice before commiting a similar offence. If he thinks he is harsely done by then he should serve his time and come back and do his talking on the field of play not in the board room. '

This is quite possibly one of the most ridiculous posts i've ever read on this forum. It sounds like you are talking about an underage 'kid' who just committed murder on a field. Catch yourself on!

I think Peter Canavan summed it up in his article in the Sunday Irish Star regarding the treatment of McMenamin and Tyrone and why Mickey is right to defend Ricey, great article peter, on the other hand Puke Spillane writes the GAA were collect to increase Riceys ban and mouthing off at his sledging of Kerry players, I have seen plenty of sledging by the boys from the kingdom over the years , Great Ambassadors of the game that knock the black book from the refs hand?

Canavan and Spillane were two legends. Canavan says the GAA is wrong while Spillane says the GAA was correct. Conflicting opinions from two legends. Canavan is from tyrone so he must be right!!!!!!!!
How long more are we going to have to listen to this saga. For God sake show some respect to the authorities. When players are cited in rugby and suspended they take their punishment on the chin.

it's nice to know that Kerry boy is thinking about our Ricey before he's even had his cornflakes

In fairness, Canavan was no angel on the field during his career.
