trileacabu..

I find your wrong there.. Colm is a very good footballer in my books and he warrants his place on the county team.. at youth level he was a better prospect than sean was.. give the lad a break and in a couple of years he could possibly be better than sean..

I would say the hardest defender in the county would be Conor Gormley.. Has been consistently good over the past two year and along with phillip jordan would walk onto any half back line in the county!

KCurrie, are you serious. Colm Cavanagh=average player who is lucky to be on county team at 23 or so
Sean Cavanagh= one of the best players in the country at 23 or so.
Are you related??

Carmenabu, Colm Cavanagh is not long turned 21, however i do agree with you that he shouldnt be on the county panel.

Enda Kilpatrick was a tough player for Tyrone in the late 80s and early 90s.

Anybody that comes on here and refers to McMenamin as being hard or tough are having a laugh arent they. He is the furthest thing from hard or tough that I have ever seen. There is nothing tough about any of his antics down through the years and if you notice they have always been on players who would be very unlikely to retaliate. Every one gets a come uppance though. I was playing in Australia good few years back and saw a so called hard man getting just the come uppance I am talking about. It was a tournament going over 5 days and there was a boy from Armagh doing the ricey with a really good young fella from Kerry. Manager of the team young kerry lad was playing on got fed up and brought on a young lad, from Galway I think, who was fairly handy with the fists. Moved in to the corner where the armagh boy was acting up and well lets just say the armagh boy saw the rest of the tournament from the sidelines with very bad headaches and a face like it had been run over by a truck. The point of my story is that ricey will get his yet!

I dont even agree that cavanagh is that hard eother fair enough he can take a knock but last year up in coalisland against derrylaughan in the championship all he did was yap all day about what was happening to him, even ricey is all talk mccullagh would be a harder we boy than him as would gormley joe campbell formerly of tyrone and dromore is also a hardy boy,

3inarow08 County: Kerry Posts: 1096 210394 I'm still waiting for a bit of fairness DellBoyPoleCat Kerry boys have some cheek looking for fairness after last year . The 3 month ban that if any other player done it would have been 6 to 12 months and the diving of a player over a playfull slap and took 3 seconds to react. The mouthing of one player all year to refs . So all of these fair ....

I've answered your questions on the main page - it's your turn to answer mine here first. After you answer the below, I'll answer any more questions you want. Please see the below post I've posted on the first page of this thread.

__________________________________________________________________________

DBPC - relax a second. I know there are a lot of "new" Kerry posters on here in the last day or two. And none of them like McMenamin. But seriously, come on! Have you not seen what he was doing during the match? Have you seen the footage on youtube? The newspaper reports? The photos?

Answer the below:

1. Where have I displayed sour grapes? I wished Tyrone congratulations, and was the first one to do so, after the All-Ireland last year. I'm well used to seeing Kerry lose finals, we've lost 20 of them! You know I'm a fair poster. I have no anti-Tyrone bias, you know that. I've often stuck up for Tyrone on HS. I'm asking for a bit of fairness from you now, so come on - answer the question.

2. Where did I mention that Tommy Walsh is a hard man? I mentioned that I'd like him to be as good as Sean Cavanagh one day yes, but never said he's a hard man. I don't think Tommy Walsh is a hard man. I also said I'd like to see Ricey marking him. I just wonder would Ricey carry on like that against him that's all. I don't think he would. Tommy wouldn't be too long in putting him in his place, you know that and I know that. You've seen the size of him.

As good a player as sean cavanagh is, and before Dellboy comes on and slates me for having the audacity to criticise a tyrone player, a hard man he ain't. He's well known for going over at the simplist challenge and winning frees, something he doesn't have to do. As much as I respect him, my opinion of him diminshed after the Tyrone intermediate final last year. He is a fantastic footballer, but I would love if he put himself about more and became harder, he certainly has the physical attributes for it, but at times it's only fleeting, when you think to that shoulder he hit the aussie this year in the compromise rules....that's what he can do.
