Kerry's win over Tyrone in Omagh

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

great match, great opening golas by Kerry, overall probably deserved their victory. However, jack O' Connor's behaviour at the end of match and the poor sportsmanship displayed by kerry - highlighted by 3 sending offs - needs to be addressed. Long gone are the days that they were the aristocrats of football. Lot of work to do kerry!!!

Keryr deserved the victory! However the referee's inconsistency was an absolute joke! Also i would just like to congradulate the Tyrone fans on there behaviour, throwing bottles and programmes at Diaurmaid Murphy when he was taking kick outs! Class Acts lads. Oh and louthfan, Jack was incensed by McMennamin's off the ball antics, surely he is within his rights to this when the referee fails to act on this! Any thoughts? Surely even all the Tyrone fans on here cannot stick up for some of the disgracefull behaviour today in Omagh! Ciarrai Abu!

Agree that it was a very good match. Kerry were very strong especially in the first half and didnt panic when tyrone started to dominate in the second. However I disagree with the criticism of O'Conner I don't blame him for eventually reacting. I thought Ryan McMenamin was a disgrace thoughout the match and this is from a long term admirer of Tyrone and McMenamin. It would have been great to have seen O'Neill playing I think that was prbably the difference.

Totally amazing that two people, Real Louth and myself, saw two completely different endings.

To be honest, a lot of handbags about nothing.

Some of the yellow cards and overall decisions were a bit baffling, but there you go.

Let be honest about it when Tyrone stepped it up kerry struggled, However you cant give a big lead like that expect to win Tyrone will not be caught like that again, they might meet again in the league final?

Well done Kerry, revenge is sweet, and showed Tyrone supporters up ion the eyes of all Irelaqnd, lovely people when they are winning.
Not so much gloating tonight, hope Kerry took Sam Maguire home with them, thats where he should have been this past few months.
Talk about O Neill being missing, what about Dara, Tomais, Donaghy, and the tyrone tactics in getting good Kerry men sent off, they must take evening classes in Omagh in how to beat the system, WELL DONE KERRY.

good game Kerry took their goal chances and deserved to win better team on the day and loosing O'Neill before the game was a disapointment for Tyrone ... but then again its a league game its still early days there's no Cups handed out in Febraury

So are you suggesting that we can all take the law into our own hands when authorities fail to act????? What a disgraceful defence of disgraceful behaviour. Two wrongs don't make a right and by the referee's making (who is the boss) kerry did more than 2 wrongs. Good win and deserved by kerry but their unsporting behaviour put a cloud over it.

Nobody has the right to enter the field of play the way o'connor did today. There is such a thing as a bad winner and kerry demonstrated that today in abundance.

Thought that Tyrone were absolutely shocking in the first half, midfield were ok, they more than matched Kerry in the first half but there was serious problen with the distrubution, players, kicking the ball straight to Kerry players, absolutely shocking distrubtion and Kerry more than punished us, the defence were abymsal completely tore apart by Kerry who were sublime. Also the new Keper Curran was shocking in the first half some shocking kickouts and the Kerry goals were dispointing as well but they weren't just his fault. In the 2nd half they were alot better and Kerry were alot worse so we kept the score respectable. Curran in fairness kept us in it in the 2nd with a few great saves. The defence were alot better and Gormley done a good job on Walsh and Ricey had Cooper in his pocket as usual (I wonder why he wasnt on him in the 08final) Disapointed not to get the win but at the end of the day I was impresed by the comback in the 2nd half, ultimately we needed a goal and there wasnt to many chances for one but thats the way it goes. The forwards were alot better but I think they lacking a cuttng edge there was still to many wasted chances in the 2nd. Midfield wasnt great in the 2nd and Kerry seemded to win every kickout, they were especially good at the breaks. On the refereeing I thought that it was very bad, I though he was inconsistent and biased against Tyrone alot of the time, there were a few more Kerry men should have got a yellow and can somone tell me what Joe McMAhon got a yellow for? Also in both games I thought that the ref gives the forward a free alot quicker than a defender, when a defender is coming out with the ball. Not sure what O'Connor was doing at the end? Also Kerry still seem to have that silly carry on of shouting and looking to the ref at every opportunity, its about time you grew up lads, but more to the point its about time the ref starting carding them for it. On another point and the amount of handpasses that Kerry went through was unbelieveable, was the Kerry propoganda crew not calling for it to be banned? But overall it was a good match, thought it was highly entertaining but dispointed with Tyrone's performance.

Glad to see Kerry & traditional football at its best restored to top of the football pecking order. Perhaps the recession may well bottom out now. Don't see too many Kerry lads going back to Omagh for their Easter Eggs.

Lol at this thread

Didn't Kerry hammer the life out of us in a league game in 05 (what happened that year?), and beat us easily in a league game last year (erm, remind me again of the final?)

Oh ye of little perspective. It's not even Kerry fans gloating - i'm sure they have more sense. Once Tyrone woke from their slumber today we had nothing to worry about. Two points from Kerry in the second-half? What a crushing humiliation for Tyrone eh.

Some great Kerry football in the first half and plenty of errors and mistakes all round, but it's still February. Post match handbags will have been very satisfactory for Tyrone, especially after seeing O'Connor losing the rag. I don't know if O'Connor was reacting to a certain Tyrone player, but I could never imagine Mickey Harte doing that. He's far too smart and calm. I noticed a Kerry selector jeering to the Tyrone crowd aas he left the pitch also. Interesting to hear Cavanagh saying after the match "we are not too worried about that stuff", especially when the Kerry team are up in arms. A win for Kerry but perhaps Tyrone will receive the greater pyschological boost.

Man I love the Kerry/Tyrone rivalry. It's fascinating. More of the same hopefully in the summer? *fingers crossed*

Some of the comments on this thread are laughable, Kerry players make a good enough job themselves of getting sent of and there should have been few more.

And lads..... Tyrone are all-ireland champions, the team of the decade, and the greatest and most entertaining footballing team in the country and we arent going anywhere so get used to it and keep you jealously in check!

will anybody from Tyone address Ryan McMenamin's behaviour? Mickey Harte is a gentleman. Does he condone this stuff?
