Great tip by Loyal. clipped the fence two out but still ran on well for third. Was never gonna beat the winner though, Quevega being the most impressive winner of the day.My only profitable race today, just about broke me even.Had a wee bit on loyals e/w. Good man Loyal, a legend of the board.

My comment on the champion hurdle was censored. Suffice to say I was far from impressed with Tony McCoy. Great jockey as proved in his getting Wichita up to win but I felt Binocular was the best horse in the ch hurdle and McCoy must be gutted by not winning it.

I also congratulated Nina Carberry for a great ride in the cross country and would like to again.

Yeah Aura About You did well, Squeaky Cawley is a Galway man and one of the up and coming jockeys in Ireland and he gave her beautiful ride. She literally flew up the hill or else a lot around her stopped to a halt. Paul Carberry gave Go Native a great ride too saving ground all the way but the horse was all out. I'd be happy enough that Punjabi was the best horse in the Champion Hurdle on the day but I still can't believe he actually won it. The Harchi dream lives on.

Mossbags, I agree with you regarding McCoy's riding of Binocular. I thought he should have positioned him closer to the leaders between the last two hurdles. Maybe he thought he could repeat his earlier heroics and just get him up on the line. I also feel he was the best horse in the race and if he had won i would have collected a huge amount of money. I would'nt like to tell you how much !!

28 runner 2m 5f handicap hurdle, if you can pick the winner of this you will be doing well. Three years ago, half of Ireland must have had Skys The Limit backed when he won with about a stone in hand. Will it be deja vu all over again with Ninetieth Minute? Possibly as I suspect the Irish will really come for this and he should go close. Also Psycho bids to avenge last year's defeat and ground conditions have come right for him but he looks exposed now. Then again, you never know what the great Tony Martin has up his sleeve.

BUT.........Altilhar at 50/1 for the handicap hurlde king Gary Moore is too good to ignore. If there is one trainer who has something PRIMED for this then it will be Gary Moore. Obviously I would prefer if it wasn't 6lbs out of the handicap but even that is a tip as Moore would not risk a handicap mark like that if he didn't think it had a chance. And he looks well in on his Fred Winter second two years when his trainer was adamant he should have won only the jockey kicked too soon. Ridden by Jamie Moore, son of the trainer and a brother to Ryan, the champion jockey. Chances are the horse either won't be sighted or will come storming up the hill, I'll take the risk that its the latter.
