if McCoy had have had that attitude on tue he would not have had that winner.

Pertemps Final

I make Galiant my Nap of the festival in this especially at the prices. Win, lose or draw, this horse is no 25/1 chance, 12/1 max is what he should be and even at that, I'd still be backing him. Not many horses who ran in a Classic (St.Leger in this lad's case) end up at Cheltenham, let alone the Pertemps Final. And he is well able to jump a hurdle too. The ground is drying out for him and I expect Cheltenham will play to his strengths too. Barry Geraghty seems quietly confident too.

And everything else in the race have some doubt or another about them, P'Tit Fute is classy but has to lump around top weight, Ballydub is held at the weights by Galient, Green Mile has done nothing to suggest he can take this and his trainer hasn't won a race in 2009, the last time Buena Vista won a race was more than two years ago and in six visits to Cheltenham, Don't Push It has failed to complete in three and looks held by Galient on Newbury running last November.

I'll be extremely disappointed if Galient is not in the first four, he is by no means a cert to, but at 25/1 I'll take the risk to find out.

Bad enough day at the races yesterday. Meath All Star let me down badly. Hopefully today will be better.

loyal - what you think of punchestowns in the world? i wouldnt trust the jocky on K.Bliss so i think punchestowns has a great chance. a winner at cheltenham before if im not mistaken.

i dont like carberry anyway, i think he does give up sometimes, when its showed he shouldnt. i want a jockey to always max what he can out of a horse and i dont feel he always does that.

At the end of the day, if you watch enough races, you will get to know jockeys and their different styles. If you back a horse ridden by a jockey in his usual style, be realistic in your expectations. For instance, Ruby will sit quiet at his fences and tends to get horses jumping better than McCoy who very often kicks his mounts into his fences but at the same time there is no one better at galvanising a horse in a finish. If you back a horse ridden by Paul Carberry, he will hold up his horse more often, get the horse to settle and hope to come with one big run passing beaten horses. Different courses and the competitiveness of races will either suit or hinder a horses chances, factor it in with a jockeys style.

Rhodejim makes a very good point. I would say Geraghty and Walsh will outwit Pieux in this one. They will make it a test, they will want to drag the finishing kick out of Kasbah Bliss. I can see Pieux holding the horse up and hoping to come late. If that happens, I can't see him out battling Big Bucks or even Punchestowns up the hill. He has ran at Cheltenham four times and been beaten on all four occasions. Big Bucks for me but Punchestowns to chase him home.

Ive gone for Punchestowns on the logic pinted out by Rhodejim and loyal but really, Kasbahs jockey would want to be seriously useless to blow it. Kasbah should be the best horse in the race by some distance. Have Voy pur in Ryanair but not feelin too confident at the minute. Something tells me Tidal bay is in for a big run.
Juniorman did u put yur tips in the right thread??

Voy Pur jumping cost him there. Imperial Commanders a good one though and put in a great round. Fully deserved. Delighted for Paddy Brennan

Glorious day. Won a few bob the last two days but putting wrong selections together meant I wasn't getting full value or return - but 3 ew doubles and a treble on Chaptoturgeon. Schindler's Hunt & Character Building left the girl in PP asking me if I was trying to do her out of a job! Happy, happy days - roll on tomorrow!!
