203835 denman is a massive 4/1 get on
and watch out for hurricane fly some horse
aran concerto is a serious one to watch out for at decent odds

It will take a comeback of Kicking King proportions for Aran Concerto to even turn up at Cheltenham, let alone win.

203545 Sorry I won't ignore

There is there a non GAA thrad for this sort of stuff, which is`already being over genorous considering there are racing meassae boards designed specifically for racing betting etc.

So please keep it in the nonGAA or keep it of the MB

------

what age are you big guy?

i fancy denners still, at 4/1 hes definately value. i take your point moss he may be past his best but kauto star is venerable when he approches the big grandstand as athem says, he usually goes through it. cheltenham will be no exception. if denners is in touch at all he has a chance. id be interested to see which ride ruby takes, probley kauto again.

im goin to take the value at 4/1, stick a score on it on pay day, treble it with two even doe football or rugger bets and itll turn into a 16/1 sweat come cheltenham time

My nap of the festival is Spurlge in the County Hurdle. I can't wait to see what price the books put him in at. He's layed out for this race and with Paul riding, I'm expecting him to do well in what is my favourite race of the meeting.

Willie Mullins runs his best bumper horse tomorrow or at least thats what I am led to believe. Apparantly its a machine.

Name = Glenlo Abbey

Currently 20/1 for the Wetherbys Cheltenham Champion Bumper, he won't be anything like that figure in 24 hours. I'm fairly sure he'll hose up tomorrow and rocket to the head of the bumper market.

Loyal would you be fairly confident he will go to cheltenhan if he wins?
Another Mullins horse entered in a bumper at the weekend is Sislian Secret(might not be right spelling) and there fairly confident about him too!

Im heading over for the week and cant wait! Ive had a few ante post bets but generally holding fire until maybe the week before until I know what ground will be like although Cheltenham dries quickly, the ground for the first few days may be gd/sft mightnt suit Binocular in Champion, who might find soft grd and a strong gallop stretching his stamina, and also to see how the recent bad weather has affected the different trainers and their preparations. Some horses have missed out on important prep runs over the last fortnight and if they run over next weekend or two may have too hard a race taking the edge off them. Im going to study the trends for each trends this year to try and get an edge. I will be taking on Zaynar, Diamond Harry and Binocular, as I think they have been over bet and hope to find value against them. Its always advisable to wait until after the gallops held at leopardstown on the Sunday evening before hand before weighing in bet wise, I was fortunate enough to back Total Enjoyment and Skys the Limit in recent years after watching them burn up the gallops!

sublimity each way 16/1 great bet. ignore his last run as there were excuses. former champion and there is no value wit binocular, he not proven around cheltenham either, will struggle to get up hill as he did last year in triumph hurdle

100% True, I did watch the 5.10 from Gowran Park on At The Races, just to see Glenlo Abbey, He was kind of idle going to the final furlong but kepy galloping to a six lenght victory. Definately one to watch at Cheltenham.

I am also going for the Lord Oaksey owned Carruthers on the Royal and Sun Alliance Chase after a convincing win in the Reynoldstown Chase at Ascot.

Loyal we were both right with our predicions but i really did think sicilian secret was more impressive(not being bias)in his manor of winning. He will be a great bet for the bumper which i think he is priced at 10s.
Any word on Hurricane fly or Cousin vinny??

Great thread. Always thought there was a link there between GAA and National Hunt Racing.
Yeah sicilian secret for me so far too but Navan tomorrow may throw up something and punchestown on wed too ( CV won bumper there last year at same meeting). Also i have cousin vinny down as cert for whatever he runs in . Mistake today would not put me off although would prefer Ruby or even young townend on him instead of Mr Mullins .
Also Until Hurricane Fly is NOT declared Champion Hurdle bound ( as he still is now) he's the one for me there, Cannot have splurge in county hurdle , think PC will do a Psycho on him , could have strangled him last year...
An an outsider I have a serious liking for Tranquil sea in the Arkle , trip today did not suit and he jumped well. voy por ustedes was mighty on sat and would have to be a good thing in the Ryan air although i'll be on each way with Schindlers Hunt at 16s.
Need some good tips though for the handicaps , theres always a few laid out for them...

Hard to know with the handicaps yet though Alexander Severus is being laid out for the Fred Winter I should think. Spurlge ran well yesterday and they got lucky with the way the race worked out in the end. Thought he could have blown his rating yesterday but he ran extremely well without winning and will only go up a pound or two in the handicap. Cheltenham will be perfect where they will all be coming back to him and Paul won't make the same mistake twice.

Neither Glenlo Abbey or Sicilian Secret impressed me too much. They both look like stayers and they would get done by something with a turn of foot. The most impressive of Willie's has been Quadrillon for me. There remains a question mark over what he bet but he still showed the turn of foot of a sprinter in the last furlong. However backing french breds in the bumper is not a recipe for success and again I come back to Meath AllStar. At this point in time, this horse has gone completely under the radar. There is not so much as a squeak about him lately. Of the others, then Shinrock Paddy looks good provided they put the right jockey on him.

Cousin Vinny and Hurricane Fly could be outshone by Kempes. Reckon Ruby could actually end up on him and be no surprise to me if he wins.

Kempes has been very impressive in his two wins this year, he has a high cruising speed, good turn of foot and jumps quick and low at hurdles. He is value at his current odds for Supreme but at the same time I think Cousin Vinny will win the Supreme Hurdle as he is made for Cheltenham and will relish the hill. Patrick Mullins did very little wrong on Sunday, horse stumbled after jumping the last very well, it happens. The worries about the splint injury suffered by Hurricane Fly puts me off his chances and Mullins might even leave him at home. Kempes may be seen to better effect at Punchestown. In relation to the bumper, I like Tornado Shay at a very big price, Thomond O Meara is a very shrewd operator and states that this is the best horse he has trained. I would not be surprised if he sneaked into a place. From the weekend, I cant see anyone beating Voy Por Ustedes or Kasbah Bliss in their respective races while dont lose faith in Punjabi for the Champion Hurdle as he doesnt go on soft ground, wasnt given a hard race, he will be a different prospect on good ground and with a strong gallop will finish in the places at least.

That sicilian secret is the best of the Mullins bumper horses. Was told months ago by a friend who works in the yard. Quadrillion is nothing more than a two mile chaser. He won in terrible conditions in Naas. Glenloo Abbey also very on paced. Then again speed horses rarely win the bumper. Its usually horses that need 2 1/2 to 3 miles in the next couple of years. The best bet for cheltenham is without doubt whiteoak. If she goes for the mares race she won last year there is nothing to beat her. Chomba Womba didnt stay last year and will not stay this year. Binoculor is unbeatable barring accidents. They must be sick the way Alexander Severus ran on sunday. He has ruined his mark for cheltenham. He will get at least 20 pounds more from the english handicapper than his irish mark(Most irish horses carry around a stone more than their irish marks) He was way too eyecatching running in his first handicap as a four year old against older horses.

Hong Kong- im with you on the each way for Tranquil Sea but will he be able to tackle the hill?He was kept fairly handy last year and I think he just ran out of steam heading up the hill.Hopefully he will go and be in with a shout.
KAUTO-im am a huge Whiteoak fan aswell and judging by whay Mc Cain is saying he could be a cracking bet for the Champion Hurdle even though im awful annoyed I didnt take him at 7s last week for the mares race.Super Horse.Kasbah Bliss was unbelievably empressive at the weekend too and I just cant see him being beaten.

Breedsbreeze out for Cheltenham after fall on saturday?

Solid bets

AskUreSister, you are getting my nerves. Granted a few of the odds might have changed slightly since the weekend but I copied and pasted from www.oddschecker.com so I don't know what you think was wrong with them????? But when I put them up they were spot on. I get the feeling you don't know as much as you think you do.
