U21 v Dublin

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

this argument obviously stems from holcroft

who has plenty of years ahead of him if he is good enough

Agnew too small and no better than wats there

callaghan dropped himself off the panel!!

englishby and O'hare minor panel last year good players but throwing them in too young could wreck there confidence
so why not throw bannon from collon and craven from the gers in aswell!!

I agree with santy, there are several players that should be on that panel and from what i have seen last year in the U21s Ronan holcroft should be there pushing for a starting place. How he wasnt on the minor team last year is a mystery to me.

Not much of a mystery when a lad tells the manager he cant give the commitment...thats why holcroft didnt play minor last year...and i remember him not gettin a kick off tienan hand from gers in minor league final and minor champ semi final...that quashs the idea that he destroys everyone he marks...he has great skill and accuracy but----

Mc Geough - I can categorically tell you now that at NO STAGE was Holdcroft asked and cetainly at no stage did he state that he couldn't give the commitment. Maybe thats what some would like to believe to justify the actions of others..

From waht i have heard from close sources I would agree with "Our kid" about holcroft. He was never approached by johnny mcdonnell last year at all according to people I have talked too that have relations with St. Fechins.

The game will definitely be closer than people are giving louth credit for. Also McDonnell was manager of Holcrofts team last year so there can be no crying that he simply refused to pick him, Im sure words were had.

Ourkid, billybob, sledger, mike hunt,

Look if jonny mcdonnell didn't want holcroft on his team last year then thats his choice as he was manager and could pick who he wanted, granted he's a fine player but he wasn't chosen so accept it. I can see everyones arguement them for and against and granted they are both fechins clubmen and you would think that might help but it didn't. Thats life

Managers live and die on these type of decisions and we'll never know if choosing him would have made a difference. I'm sure there were many other players not picked and disappointed aswell.

This is the 21s we should be supporting
All we are doing is giving out about players not making this or that team.
Last years minors where missing holdcraft, berril, bellew,o connor, william woods and many more
This is the 21s so lets get behind them, that is what is wrong with louth football, always quick to point the finger and blame.
It will be the same with this years minors when the 17th april comes against Dublin in drogheda.
We should get behind them

Holcroft dropped himself off that louth panel..it was either at the end of the u17 season or start of minor...am nearly sure he was on original panel for pre seaon but wasnt up for the commitment..

ronan holdcroft did not i repeat did NOT drop himself off the panel. he was not selected. although he did score 1-8 in a training match one night. they were short a few players and holdcroft was drafted in to FILL in numbers but was not asked back.
dont lsten to those who say he could not commit or anythin like that. ipure bull is all that is just an excuse used, the chap was absolutely gutted not to be on it
