Is that the hurling? Let's hope the result is a bit better than the Kildare match. In fairness Kildare were always going to be a good bit ahead. I hope the lads took the learning from it and use it in the league.

On that matter, how come we are still in Div 3 despite winning it out last year?

That team seem's steady enough, alot of good talent listed there should be more than good enough to challenge the dub's on sun. Would like to know who else is on the panel or bench do, surely there's somebody better there than Shane Brennan.....? Dont get me wrong he's a good kid, but like he's not great if ye know wat i mean

surley gareth moran is better in midfield than dan o connell?? gareth played in the midddle most of last year for glyde and they got to the semi of the champo? brian duffy is also another option... (and before you ask- im not from tallanstown!!)

pops maybe for centre half aswell.. doing very well with the seniors? seems wasted in corner back as he has good strenght carrying the ball forward..

savage forward lines.... another addition maybe niall conlon?? very good team worker..

maybe the backs might be..

2. dec byrne (maybe 3rd midfielder if needed)
3. nixon (aidan o brian will be here if he's not injured)
4. clarke (not actually too sure about him as a corner back-i think he's better suited to the wings..)
5. pops (senior position and doin very well)
6. brain duffy (centre half for glyde the whole of last year)
7. gerry hoey (senior position and doin very well)

midfield-
8. gareth moran
9. mc cann

forwards the same as above

Think Louth have a really good chance in causing what many would see as an upset. Team seems fairly strong and has plenty of talent! As for racetrack_road's junk remarks. Shane Brennan is an exceptional player. He is the one of the fittest if not the fittest man in both the under 21 and senior panel. He is very quick and physical. He was even on the under21 team last year. Its is so obvious you have sumthing against the chap, that was the only post you ever wrote! cop yourself on and get behind the team instead of slatting them.

dont no why pops is wing back for the seniors and only good enough for corner back on the 21's

what bout any minors- someone from the gers or woods from finbarrs?? Would they be good enough??

A friend of mine from dublin told me they have very quick vorner forwards and i think pops would be an excellent marker as he has great pace and can carry the ball out!
I also think shane brennan will be slected becasue of his huge fitness levels and eamonn is a big fan of his! Moran could move to centre half even!Im not sayin pops isnt good enough to play centre half,i jus think he makes a great corner back

if dublin have quick corner forwards then gerry hoey has to be corner back... brill man-marker..

Heard the team on LMFM this morning. I admit I didnt see any of the trial matches but I am still very surprised that Pat Lynch and Dean Matthews did not make the team. Forwards look short of scores.

how can the team that wiped the floor with all opposition in this years U21 championship only have 3 players on the team ?
I hope this isn't a case of spreading the pick to keep all happy..

Sledger - this forum is about opinions so please allow me to express mine. I'm think I'm entitled to it - and for what its worth its a disgrace that one player at this level continues to be ignored. It happened on last years minor panel and happened again on this years under 21 panel. I won't mention the chaps name but suffice is to say he has an under 21 championship medal this year and destroyed anyone who attempted to mark him and yes - he's only 18.

I'll be there on Sunday to support our under 21s as I support through thick and thin. I won't however pretend that all is rosey when clearly it isnt.

We all know the U21 competition in this county is nothing to go by as majority of the teams don't pay it enough respect FACT

Mac has trawled the county and put in excellent preparation
there is not one player on the team that shouldn't be there or one player outside the panel that deserves a place on the panel

if he is good enough at this age his time will come

Ourkid it is all well and good having the ability but you need to have the committment and be willing to give up everything. Mac has put so much effort in to the u21 and lets all hope it pays off as they deserve it.
