Lakeside Manor Hotel A.C.F.L. Division 3 Round 1
Butlersbridge v Ballymachugh

Kildallon v Corlough, If the rumours are true about Corlough I'd expect kildallon to take this.

Shannon Gaels v Munterconnacht, I think home advantage will see the Gaels past the munchies.

Swanlinbar v Templeport, Again home advantage to be enough.

Mountnugent v Cornafean, If Cornafean are back to themselves and can hold Giveny then Cornafean.. If's and But's..

Killygarry v Laragh Utd, can't call this one...

Bailieboro v Arva, Again ya'd expect a home win, long trip to Baileboro.

I'd say all home wins!!! Any other opinions

joeyjojo- what are the rumours about Corlough? Have they no manager or what?

I believe Swanlinbar are not joining up their neighbours for the Senior Championship again this could just be rumour but I am surprised if it is true, have they not had a few lads on the County Panel in the past surely this is a chance to show themselves better.

Butlersbridge v Ballymachugh - think home advantage will swing it for bridge, bridge by 1 Kildallon v Corlough - Kildallan are far better team than corlough who usually peak around this time of year - Kildallan by 5. Shannon Gaels v Munterconnacht - Munchies may find going tough this year after all the hype last year, shannon gaels have alot of good young players and if eamon reilly available will win easy - gaels by 6. Swanlinbar v Templeport - again swad have the better set of players, if all avail and home advantage they'll win by 2 Mountnugent v Cornafean - depends if reds can hold givney, reds have alot of work done which helps at this time of year - cornafean by 1 Killygarry v Laragh Utd - Laragh under new management should be too strong for killygarry, interesting to see how stong a 1st 10 killygarry have managed to get county board to agree on, Laragh by 5 Bailieboro v Arva - Nice one for bailieborogh to start off with, home advantage should ensure no shock here, bailie by 3

Why will Swad not join their neighbours?? Are they too good to play with them?

I wouldn't dispute that about Swad going up but I suppose the million dollar question is will they all hold their heads till the end of the season during games and between themselves this is where they let themselves down each year. Still can't understand why they won't join up for the Senior Championship surely they have been complaining about this often enough!!!

I'd say Swad aren't joining for the senoir Championship because they've seen the club slip over the last few years from being a well established Intermediate and Division 2 Club to a Junior, Division 3 Club. They won the Junior Champ in 2006 and haven't improved on that.
I'd reckon they want to concentrate on getting the club back to where it was.
Templeport will be a good test for them on Sunday. Should be a very good game on paper!!

Lakeside Manor Hotel A.C.F.L. Division 3 Round 1 Butlersbridge off?? Ballymachugh Kildallon 1-10 0-14 Corlough Shannon Gaels 0-14 3-04 Munterconnacht Swanlinbar 0-14 1-09 Templeport Mountnugent 1-07 1-04 Cornafean Killygarry 0-06 0-09 Laragh Utd Bailieboro 1-09 0-06 Arva I was at 2 of the games, Swad will be a hard team to beat with McKiernan playing very well in midfield and the 3 Cunninghams linking well with each other up the middle, (John Centre half back Mich Mid field and Mark Centre half Forward). Templeport stuck with them well thou but with Ciaran McManus doing most of they're scoring from dead balls a well discaplined team might not give them that chance. They Played Piper full forward and landed everything in on top of him with snow on it. McKiernan got sent off (2 yellows) with about 5mins to go and Lassa Morganrath got a straight red at the death. Kildallan were beaten by Corlough. Kildallan are a better footballing team but Corlough wanted the win more and didn't let Kildallan play the nice football they like to... Dragged them down to they're level and fustrated Kildallan. Oisin Bannon got a red card late on.

Joeyjojo... what you mean drag Kildallen down to their level?? Kildallen were not at the races at all , Ronan Reilly was very poor and didn't look like he was on the Cavan panel, both the Corlough Midfielders were totally on top. I thought the centre half back from Corlough was very good and made some great runs up the field while taking some heavy knocks. I suppose Corlough did want the win more but they were always the better team. Also the kick out were excellent even agaisnt the breeze a great help to any team. Swad were bout 10 points the better team but could never pull away from Templeport. Mc Kiernan played well as did young cunningham but why has he to act the way he does on the field? He is probably the best forward in West Cavan but he is disliked because of his behaviour, I would like to see him adapting a better approch on the field and then we all can come on here and talk about the great football he plays. I thought Robbie Pior was excellent and he can give off the ball brillantly. Surprised with Shannon Gaels only beating Munchies bt point

Corlough put up a great battle at the weekend, very dogged side made Kildallen play their game and deserved to win. Two fantastic performances from Corlough midfielder and full forward. Aaron Duignan full of fire and looked like he might have been the difference but he was starved of possession in the final few minutes. Ronan Reilly is not a midfielder. Also thought Shane Reilly deserved his place in the corner, very fast and possibly more of a threat than Devine?

Robbie prior from Swad had a fantastic game, knocking over points for fun despite the sly digs he was getting from his marker. Overall the team need to sort out discipline. Two of the Cunninghams-while being very gifted footballers-were a disgrace. McKiernan had a fantastic game but also needs to cop on with regards to behaviour. Swad are very beatable though, couldnt put away a poor TP team...
