What's the story about this team?Has the squad been picked? The reason I ask is this, I was a player attending the trial and attended all trial matches and training and was told to wait by the phone for contact from the manager. He works on a selection method of, if your not rung by a set time your not picked for the panel and if you get a call your picked, now is this very fair? I was later told by a player also attending these trials that this team was picked and he was only looking for "Benchwarmers" This seems a very poor managerial skill for a man who is trying to bridge the gap from Senior County to Minor County.

Think Lee McFadden is one of them.

Heres a few lads who were not expected to make the team:
Kieran McGinley - Kilcar
Mark McGinty - Glenfin
Darren O'Leary - Sean MacCumhaills
Danny Murphy - Moville

All of these lads are in the 1st fifteen..

they wer just in the first 15 in a mickey mouse tournement in Sligo!! Only 2 of the proper 15 wer startin that game! Darragh gallagher gerad ward...! So they probably won't make the starting 15. Very good team there this year with most of the minor team from 3 years ago and a few more younger players added to that.

Yeah, i would imagine Murphy will be in the first 15, he won the Moville senior player of the year this year despite being only 19. The dubliner has bags of pace. He's a bit erratic at times considering hes a corner back & also a bit light. Full back will be Shane 'Baker' Boyle & either Declan Walsh or Mark McGinty in the other corner. Cant see Gerard Ward at full forward, he had a poor year for Glenfin, O'Leary will be probaby make it ahead of him, after all he got a county trial this year.

Boys anyone who thinks Danny Murphy and Kieran McGinley of Kilcar should not be starting in the U-21s doesnt follow club football in this county. Didnt McGinley not get 1-2 on E McGee from half forward a few weeks back in the divisonal competition and he has put I seen him put in a couple of serious displays in the senior championship 2 years ago.

U-21 team named.
Revenge will be utmost on the minds of the Tir Chonaill players after they lost the corresponding game last year by 0-7 to 4-13.

Donegal (U21FC v Derry):
L McFadden
D Walsh, S Boyle, D Curran
P McGinley, E Doherty, P McGrath
P McGee, R Wherity
M McElhinney, L McLoone, E Waide
B Faherty, M Murphy, D Gallagher.

Looks to be a pretty strong team. Walsh, Wherity, and all the forwards except Faherty have played for the seniors.
