National League Vs Cavan

enda williams more than deserves his place. as with shane cox, i hear he is training well, we are missing many players and he unlikely to start in champ but i have no qualms about putting him in for now. shanley is the target man and provider of quick ball to less physical mimnagh and magee. no arguments. it's the best team we can muster up and well capable of winning, so spd quit being so negative and no stupid comments on bowls which im sure shanley and willie would struggle at, they dont have the patience to play a sport like that. willie might be tempted though because of the older generation women who attend those events

very poor midfield to be honest, flynn way to slow for intercounty football he was cleaned against louth so he was..would rather see kevin smyth there in midfield ahead of him to be honest

I'd imagine Smith will start at midfield. Berry will drift with the two boys inside, both capable of scoring. McGee is most dangerous when inside rather than out the field. This is a rebuilding exercise. While it would be great to be challenging for honours, realistically if we survive we will do well. Shoul;d achieve that. For the development of the team they do not want to be playing in div 4.

id have D. Brady in corner forward n giv him the free roll in the forwards!! Berry wing back!!
If sean Meeanaghan wasn injured he wud easily be there ahead of Willie because he can move and he is a threat goin forward!! Paul Devine is playin with nthe u21s he wudn be far off corner back either!!

Were you at that game against Louth hollywood hogan? I didnt think flynn was roasted at all....he was about the only player to physically stand up to louth at all actually. Longfords problem is that we are physically to small in so many areas. Aside from flynn and K Smyth there is no other player with a real physical presence. I would have those 2 midfield for starters. Ive been to all games this year so far and its the same oul problem for us. Very very weak full back line...far too easily exposed. I hope Glen Ryan comes up with a solution because if longford dont stop giving away easy goals then we are always gonna be up against it.

1. Watters
2. Brady
3. N Farrell
4. Mc Donnell
5. Masterson
6. A O Connor
7. S Cox (deserves a go after a good performance against ait)
8. Flynn
9. Smyth
10. Berry
11. Mulligan
12. Morgan
13. Mc Gee
14. D Farrell
15. Mimnagh

Best 15 available at the moment in my opinion.....best of luck against Cavan Lads.

think flynn deserves his place on the team and if he can make an impression over the next few games would like to c him keep a place 4 the later stages of the year aldo would b suited better 2 full 4ward wen all d big name players return!! muliligan and flynn are th eonly ones who will b the main physical presence on the team and although experimental again with limited numbers some nice footballers getting a chance!!

Think things might go pear shaped for Glen in this league campaign. Was talking to 2 players during the week and they were saying with the injuries and pull outs from the squad they'd be lucky to beat Tipp in the league. And in relation to the injuries they said the 2 Bardens, Sheridan and Dowd will be out for at least 5-6 games of the league and even then they might not make the championship game with lack of training.

That may be the team that you and everyone else heard but thats the 15 that will be taking to the field. Just because their not numbered 1 -15 on their own jerseys doesn't mean they won't be starting. Mark my words thats the starting team. Doing a Ger Loughnane. Naming a 1-15 but actually playing the 16-30!!!

what a win!!!Kevin Mulligan and The Bull were on form.Few mistakes here and there but in my opinion they were longfords best players.Shanley was showing for ball like the corner forwards should have been...scored a great point after taking his man out of the game with a dummy..McGee should have showed more..although he scored a couple of good points..
Before the game i was slightly pessimistic about winning any games in the league but the team showed great heart which has been missing in recent matches...
Another good point to the game was longfords defence which were very solid up until the introduction of seanie johnston..johnson was found hard handled when he came on but the defence again became solid for the dying minutes.very important to todays victory. We were probably a bit lucky with the goals but you have to be in the right place at the right time.
Was shocked to see Shane Doyle playing. He might have scored a goal but didint make enough of an impression in my opinion.
Enda Williams,Noel Farrell,Dermot Brady,Padraig Berry,Peter Foy all played well.Very happy to see Waters in goals. He seems alot smarter than sheridan as far as time wasting is concerned.Kick-outs mightnt be as good but they're not bad either.
