Breffni and jaffa cake..

Yea Cavan have won most Ulsters. My point is however - how can we call them aristocrates of Football? All other teams mentioned have success spanning from the beginning to now. Cavan have not appeared in an all-ireland final since 1952, thats 56 long years for an aristocrate of the game. They won an ulster in '97 but they didnt even make an ulster final from 1969 til then and havent since. So can we call Wexford aristocrates for their four in a row in the 1910's? Or Roscommon's team in the 1940's? Its pointless slagging me back about Monaghan - im not claiming to be from a county that is a GAA aristocrate!!

Football has moved on without Cavan. It's the only answer to such a dominant team disappearing into oblivion. They cant be called aristocracy of the game any longer.

That is almost word for word what I was going to type, though I reckon I'd change Sean Óg de Paor for Joyce and include Stephen King for Cavan.

You'll notice it was neither a Cavan or Mayo man who labelled us aristocats, so no-one is claiming to be GAA aristocrats.

Patrique has posted many times about the folly of this type of post so no need for me to continue.

Good to see that no matter how much better a side Monaghan are than Cavan, they will always be bitter towards the Breffni boys!

Oh and Brolly, i forgot to add that we did in fact reach an Ulster final between '69 and '97. Donegal beat us in '83. If you are going to give out...at least have the facts straight!
