moate are a very strong team; two excellent midfielders, half back like is very tough and the full back line is hard get past. the forwards are all well capable of scoring from anywhere especially the inside line. they were poor against peter's but if they play at their best they will be hard to beat

Edenderry eased past mullingar in cusack yesterday.
the frightening thing about this is they haven played nearly as well as they can.

The Bridge were very poor in Kennegad last night and i thought Benildus deserved something from the game.
I think Good council will make final. Moate Edenderry to hard to call.

Moate were done lst ni, james geoghan scored a point in the 1st half dat was waved wide, Anton sullivan shd ave been sent off. lines man said nothing happened even tho standing 2 yards from the incident. I hope winner of good counsel and bridge win now because this not the behavior we want to see winning is it? Moates behavior was brill and were unbelieveable thru out. Was heart broken 4 them they deserved more. Well done lads and fair play

From what i have been told Moate thought they were shoe-ins for the final and rightfully so were beaten....best of luck to a hearty edenderry TEAM...hopefully they will go on and win it!!!

Collegeboy Im not sure what type of clown category you fall under but please keep your sad jokes off this page. From what I KNOW Moate (thankfuly) do not not posess the ignorance, arrogance and unsportsmanship Edenderry have. They are so much greater than them in every aspect and they never let themselves stoop to their level. You say Edenderry are a hearty team but whats hearty about low shots and stealing victory through dirty tactics? cunning it is, hearty it is not. They will win Leinster and they will go on to an All Ireland final im sure of that much because they are a good side. But I have no respect for them so whatever they do achieve will be worthless to my eyes and those of many others. I congratulate a spirited and inspiring Moate team and management who have given hours of enjoyment and excitement since the start of the season and remained sporting to the end, despite what was thrown at them.

Johnny Depp you think Moate were so sporting against Edenderry so you honestly think that they didnt go out with the gameplan to stop Anton by any means possible which is exactly what they done. I'm not making excuses for what he done because it was a disgrace and it has no place on a football field but you seriously need to alter your opinion because them Moate lads aren't all perfect little angels.

Treebeard, nice name by the way
I dont expect any starting 15 of any GAA team over the age category of U-10s to be "perfect little angels". Toughness and hardiness is a trademark of GAA and theres nothing wrong a good fair jostle. I am well aware this is a contact sport and heavy hits will be given and taken on both sides. BUT i have to ask you where on earth did you get the notion that Moate went out to stop Anton by "any means possible"? Was his marker punching him in the ribs and stomach like he was? Did he get kicked in the face like Kieran Martin did? No would be the answer to that by the way. If anyone was targeted before the match it was Martin, county senior and u-21, who took both physical and verbal abuse the whole game. And quite admirably he took it all in his stride. Anton was marked, and well marked by a westmeath minor(Mulvihill) who also kept Allen scoreless from in the Offaly-WEstmeath match last year. In fact the only way Anton could pull loose was by fouling and then setting up the goal. So id like to turn your statement on its head, where it belongs, and say Anton went out to stop Moate by any means possible. You can see that as clever, ruthless, genius, cunning, shrewd...dosnt matter cause at the end of the day its cheating and moate were cheated.

joeyboy "sour grapes" blogger. Did you learn a knew saying or something cause its all i see from you. Obviously theres going to be hard feelings after a game like that. Heres another saying for you, "Gracious winners". Just leave them deal with it because youd be the same if it was you. okay? As you say Edenderry are in a final against Good Counsel so maybe focus more on that and wexfords page instead.
