Right there redhandman, it was because of the war.

Here's one, what player has scored hat-tricks in the premiership, championship, league 1, league 2, FA cup, league cup, and for his country?

Patrique - the first answer is Fermanagh (2004 in the football) which Shinners already got. The other answer is Cavan - they were nominated by the Ulster Council to contest the All-Ireland Senior Hurling semi-final in 1908. They had qualified to play Derry in the 1908 final (the only final not to involve Antrim until 2001) but it didn't take place until May 1909, when Derry won and then represented Ulster in 1909 instead. Dublin beat Cavan, at Jones' Road, 4-12 to 0-3 in early 1909. Cavan hadn't (and still haven't) won the Ulster SHC despite losing 5 finals.

Excellent one Pearses, but I should have remembered the Cavan game, played on 21st February 1909 at Jone's Road, shouldn't I?

Glad to see Kilkenny hammered Derry 3-17 to 0-3 in that 1909 semi on November 14th 1909. That will teach Derry to make a fool of me on sports questions.

Thunderstruck County: Meath Posts: 9 186386 Name 5 fathers and their sons who have won all-star awards in Football?? Will post answer tomorrow evening.... Please do. This seemed easy but then........ Bernard and Alan Brogan, Frank and Brian Mcguigan, Dermoy Earley and junior Dermot. Then I thought Joe Kernan, but amazingly Aaron hasn't won an all star. Sean walsh, but no all star for Tommy. That leaves Ger O'Keefe, was his son the goalie, or one of the O'Sullivans. In short, I await the answer with baited breadth.

Well one father and son combination comes from Walterstown in County Meath and if I'm not mistaken, they both got their All-Stars in the same position..

Indeed Loyal - Pat Reynolds - I think Meath's first All Star (in '71) and his son Paddy in '99!
